Inspection in Auto Active Test

- IPDM E/R starts the auto active test with the door switch signals transmitted by BCM via CAN communication. Therefore, the CAN communication line between IPDM E/R and BCM is considered normal if the auto active test starts successfully.

Concept of Auto Active Test
- IPDM E/R starts the auto active test with the door switch signals transmitted by BCM via CAN communication. Therefore, the CAN communication line between IPDM E/R and BCM is considered normal if the auto active test starts successfully.
- The auto active test facilitates troubleshooting if any systems controlled by IPDM E/R cannot be operated.

- CHECK FRONT WIPER MOTOR GROUND CIRCUIT Refer to " «DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE»(ref-675631-S41845527422014120500000) ". Is the inspection result normal? YES: GO TO 4. NO: Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK FRONT WIPER MOTOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE Turn the ignition switch ON. With CONSULT, select FRONT WIPER of IPDM E/R ACTIVE TEST item. Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground while wipers are operating. IPDM E/R Ground FRONT WIPER Voltage (Approx.) Connector Terminal E45 17 LO Battery voltage OFF 0 V 18 HI Battery voltage OFF 0 V Is the inspection result normal? YES: Replace front wiper motor. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675631-S23641355152014120500000) ". NO: Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675597-S28632663882014120500000) " (with Intelligent Key) or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675598-S27210814052014120500000) " (without Intelligent Key).
- CHECK FRONT WIPER REQUEST SIGNAL INPUT With CONSULT, select FR WIP REQ in DATA MONITOR of IPDM E/R. Switch the front wiper switch to HI and LO. Check the status of FR WIP REQ while operating the switch. Data monitor Condition Status FR WIP REQ Front wiper switch OFF STOP Front wiper switch LO LOW Front wiper switch HI HI Is the inspection result normal? YES: Replace IPDM E/R. NO: GO TO 6.
- CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH (WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH) Check combination switch (wiper and washer switch). Refer to " «COMPONENT INSPECTION»(ref-675631-S36142381452014120500000) ". Is the inspection result normal? YES: Replace BCM. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675612-S22326735462014120500000) " (with Intelligent Key) or " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675613-S40874896552014120500000) " (without Intelligent Key). NO: Repair or replace the applicable parts.
INSPECTION
Check that air can pass through the nozzle (1) by blowing into the nozzle and that air cannot flow in the opposite direction.
