DTC P1320 - IGNITION SIGNAL Nissan 200SX S14

Testing & Diagnostics 1 illustration ~314 words
  1. Check Ground Circuit Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Restart engine. If engine starts, go to step 5). If engine does not start, turn ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect power transistor harness connector. (Scheme 14) Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between power transistor harness connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire) and ground. If no continuity exists, repair open in Black wire. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  2. Check Power Supply Disconnect ignition coil harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between ignition coil harness connector terminal No. 7 (Black/Red wire) and ground. If battery voltage does not exist, repair fault in Black/Red wire as required. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
  3. Check Power Transistor Input Signal Circuit Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ECM harness connector. see scheme 3 Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ECM harness connector terminal No. 1 and power transistor harness connector terminal No. 1 (White/Black wire). see scheme 4 If no continuity exists, repair open in White/Black wire as required. If continuity exists, inspect ignition coil and power transistor. See the «SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS - 2.0L»(ref-17821) article. Replace ignition coil and/or power transistor if necessary.
  4. Check Resistor Input Signal Circuit Strip tape covering resistor/condenser. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between resistor/condenser harness connector terminal No. 1 and ignition coil harness connector terminal No. 8 (Green wire). If no continuity exists, repair open in Green wire. If continuity exists, check continuity between resistor/condenser harness connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Red wire) and ECM harness connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If no continuity exists, repair open in Gray/Red or White wire as required. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  5. Check Component Inspect resistor/condenser. Measure resistance across resistor/condenser terminals. Resistance should be 2200 ohms. Replace resistor/condenser as required and perform «FINAL CHECK»(ref-17820-S16658626442000122900000).
