SERVICE REMINDER WARNING RESET INDEX

How To Set The Reminder Schedule

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
  2. Operate the multi-information meter button to display WARNING PERIOD on the odometer.
  3. Press the multi-information meter button once for at least 1.2 seconds.
  4. The service reminder indicator will flash.
  5. Press the multi-information meter button three times for at least 1.2 seconds while the service reminder indicator is flashing.
  6. The service reminder indicator is turned ON, and the current schedule is displayed on the odometer.
  7. While the current schedule is displayed (for three seconds), press the multi-information meter button consecutively three times for less than 1.2 seconds.
  8. The odometer is shifted to the schedule selection mode.
  9. When the multi-information meter button is pressed for less than 1.2 seconds, the schedule is shifted, and when the button is pressed for 1.2 seconds or more, the displayed schedule is set. NOTE: Schedule, "JPN", "EU", "NAS", "GCC/EXP", "MMAL" and "SEVERE" can also be selected. However, only the "Normal" setting will be accepted.
  10. The set schedule is displayed for 3 seconds, and the time until next warning period is displayed.
  1. Move the electric motor switch to the OFF position.
  2. Operate the selection button to display WARNING PERIOD on the odometer.
  3. Press the selection button once for at least 1.2 seconds.
  4. The service reminder indicator will flash.
  5. Press the selection button three times for at least 1.2 seconds while the service reminder indicator is flashing.
  6. The service reminder indicator is turned ON, and the current schedule is displayed on the odometer.
  7. While the current schedule is displayed (for three seconds), press the selection button consecutively three times for less than 1.2 seconds.
  8. The odometer is shifted to the schedule selection mode.
  9. When the selection button is pressed for less than 1.2 seconds, the schedule is shifted, and when the button is pressed for 1.2 seconds or more, the displayed schedule is set. NOTE: Schedule, "JPN", "GCC", "EU" and "AUS" can also be selected. However, only the "NAS" setting will be accepted.
  10. The set schedule is displayed for 3 seconds, and the time until next warning period is displayed.

Learned Value Read & Save And Write Learned Value (Changed ECU)

CAUTIONTo prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958.

  1. After the ignition switch is in "LOCK" (OFF) position, connect scan tool MB991958 to the diagnosis connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
  3. Select "MFI" from System select Screen of scan tool MB991958.
  4. Select "Special Function" from MFI Screen.
  5. Select "Timing chain maintenance" from Special Function Screen.
  6. Select "Learned value Read & Save" from Timing chain maintenance Screen.
  7. Press "OK" to store the learning value file. NOTE: When the learning value file is appropriately stored, "Learned Value Save Complete" is shown on the screen of the scan tool MB991958. NOTE: Calculating the amount of elongation of the timing chain by the ECM takes the time. Thus, the file cannot be stored for a while after the ECM initialization or replacement.
  8. Replace the ECM.
  9. Select "Learned value reset" from Timing chain maintenance Screen.
  10. Select the learning value file stored during Step 3 to write the learning value. NOTE: Use only the learning value file stored during Step 3 without using any other files. NOTE: When the learning value is appropriately written, "Learned value writing Completed." is shown on the screen of the scan tool MB991958.
