SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM
Note. When diagnosing vehicle, read faults before starting diagnostic work. During some testing procedures, components are disconnected with engine running causing simulated faults. Ensure faults are recorded before starting diagnostic work to ensure only actual faults are diagnosed.
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC HFM-SFI)
- Turn ignition off. Perform pretest conditions. See PRETEST CONDITIONS. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. If diagnosing vehicle using a generic scan tool, connect generic scan tool to data link connector (X11/22) located under driver's side dash board. (Scheme 1)
- If diagnosing vehicle using Hand-Held Tester (HHT) (965 589 00 01 00), connect Multiplexer Cable (965 589 00 40 00) to HHT. Ensure ignition is off. Connect multiplexer cable to data link connector (X11/4), located in right rear corner of engine compartment. (Scheme 2) Turn ignition on. Record all fault codes. See appropriate table under HFM-SFI FAULT CODE IDENTIFICATION to identify fault code.
