EXTERIOR LIGHTING

The exterior lighting consists of the following

  1. headlamps
  2. side lamps/front turn signal lamps
  3. rear lamps
  4. high-mounted stoplamps
  5. fog lamps
  6. parking lamps
  7. license plate lamps
  8. backup lamps
  9. side repeater lamps
  10. brake pedal position (BPP) switch
  11. fog lamp switch
  12. multifunction switch

The headlamp switch is integrated into the multifunction switch.

DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL)

The daytime running lamps (DRL) system consists of the following

  1. Daytime running lamps (DRL) control module Resistor Relay

The daytime running lamps control module operates the low beam headlamps at a reduced voltage when the ignition switch is in the ON position, the parking brake is disengaged, and the headlamp switch is OFF. Although the DRL system uses the low beam filament of the headlamp, it has a voltage-reducing resistor to dim the headlamps for daytime operation. This allows the flash-to-pass function during DRL system operation.

The DRL module is located under the instrument panel on the driver-side.

The DRL resistor is a part of the DRL module. For removal and installation, refer to DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL) MODULE .

The DRL relay is mounted under the DRL module and is available separately.

INTERIOR LIGHTING

The interior lighting system consists of the following

  1. console lamp assembly (with roof opening panel)
  2. interior/map reading lamp assembly
  3. cargo lamp assembly
  4. generic electronic module (GEM)
  5. interior lamp switch
  6. cargo lamp switch

Interior/Map Reading Lamp

The interior/map reading lamp assembly is equipped with two independently operated map lamps and one interior lamp and has a three-position switch: OFF, DOOR, and ON. The interior/map reading lamp assembly operates automatically when any of the doors are opened.

Cargo Lamp

A cargo lamp is located in the cargo area and has a three position switch: OFF, DOOR, and ON. The lamp is operated by an integral switch in the liftgate latch.
