ABNORMAL NOISE OR KNOCKING

1. Check engine oil and coolant level.
2. Check turbo system (if equipped) for damage and wear.
3. Check engine control system for malfunctioning components.

System inspection should include following components

1. Airflow Meter
2. Idle Switch
3. Vacuum Routing (For Leaks)
4. Neutral Safety Switch (A/T)
5. Clutch Switch (M/T)
6. EGR Valve Position Sensor (If Equipped)
7. Knock Sensor (If Equipped)
8. Throttle Position Sensor
9. Coolant Temperature Sensor
10. Coolant Thermoswitch
11. Inhibitor Switch (A/T)
12. Electronic Controlled Automatic Transmission (ECAT) Unit
