- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the antenna mast.
- Remove the mounting nut and base using snap-ring pliers.
- Remove the passenger-side side panel. (See SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the antenna plug.
- Partially peel off the right side mud guard.
- Remove the bolt, then remove the antenna.

- Tape the antenna plug to the string.
- Pass the antenna and string through the hole in the front fender.
- Install the bolt, then install the antenna.
- Connect the antenna plug.

- Install the antenna mast.
- Connect the negative battery cable.

- Verify that there is no continuity between the antenna terminals as shown using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the antenna.

- Disconnect the connector and remove the front door speaker.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Inspect for resistance between the front door speaker terminals using an ohmmeter. Touch the leads of an ohmmeter to the front door speaker terminals and verify that the front door speaker clicks. If not as specified, replace the front door speaker.

- Remove the rear side trim. (See REAR SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the screws.
- Disconnect the connector and remove the rear speaker.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Inspect for resistance between the rear speaker terminals using an ohmmeter. Touch the leads of an ohmmeter to the rear speaker terminals and verify that the rear speaker clicks. If not as specified, replace the rear speaker.

- Insert a hand between the A-pillar and the dashboard, then compress the hooks of the front tweeter from the back of the dashboard.

- Inspect for resistance between the front tweeter terminals using an ohmmeter. Touch the leads of an ohmmeter to the front tweeter terminals and verify that the front tweeter clicks. If not as specified, replace the front tweeter.

- Remove the driver-side rear speaker.

- Disconnect the woofer connector.
- Inspect continuity between the rear speaker terminals and the woofer terminals using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the related wiring harnesses.
- Verify that there is battery positive voltage at woofer connector terminal H using a voltmeter. If not as specified, replace the related wiring harnesses.
- Inspect continuity between woofer connector terminal J and body ground using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the related wiring harnesses.

- Insert a screwdriver into the hole stamped mark.
- To remove upper module, lift it by pushing down the screwdriver's handle.

- Insert a tape-wrapped screwdriver between the cover and the base unit, then unlatch hook A.
- To unlatch hook B, pull the cover upward.
