- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Insert the SST into the service holes on the bottom surface of the lower module.
- To remove the cover, push the SST in the direction shown by the arrow.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the driver-side air bag module. See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE»(ref-170501-S21220631912005011000000) .
- Remove the steering wheel.

- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the driver-side air bag module. See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE»(ref-170501-S21220631912005011000000) .
- Disconnect the audio control switch connector.
- Measure the resistance and inspect for continuity between the audio control switch/cruise control switch terminals using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the audio control switch/cruise control switch. R: Resistance. See the table «AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION»(ref-178066-S42429495862005061000000) . - Turn the socket while pushing the protrusion of the ring through the hole of the socket with a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.
- Push the socket forward.
- Return the socket clockwise to original angle position as shown to pull it forward.
