DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNINGIncorrect servicing of the discharge headlights could result in electrical shock. Before servicing the discharge headlights, always refer to the discharge headlight service warnings. (See DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SERVICE WARNINGS .)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front bumper. (See «FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375392-S25264795932010102800000) .)
  3. Remove the front combination light. (See «FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375320-S35175580102010102800000) .)
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

SIDE TURN LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note. Side turn lights are integrated with the power outer mirror.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the power outer mirror. (See «OUTER MIRROR GLASS REMOVAL»(ref-375321-S19852846142010102800000) .) (See «POWER OUTER MIRROR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375321-S36265626782010102800000) .)
  3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  2. Remove the service hole cover.
  3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

  3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

COMBINATION SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNINGIf the negative battery cable or the steering angle sensor connector is disconnected, the stored initial position of the steering angle sensor will be cleared and the DSC will not operate properly, making the vehicle unsafe to drive. Perform the steering angle sensor initialization procedure after connecting the negative battery cable.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts: Driver-side air bag module (See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375340-S17292282012010102800000) .) Steering wheel (See «STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375364-S15088001982010102800000) .) Column cover (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375422-S22241475042010102800000) .)
  3. Disconnect the connector.
  4. Remove the screws.
  5. Remove the combination switch.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Perform the steering angle sensor reference point setting. (See «STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE»(ref-375320-S27923995692010102800000) .)

HAZARD WARNING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONThe hazard warning switch cannot be reused because it is removed by prying out the connection part of the hazard warning switch panel and hazard warning switch. Do not remove the hazard warning switch except when replacing it.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the following parts: Decoration panel (See «DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375422-S00635045162010102800000) .) Center panel (See «CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375422-S25498401972010102800000) .) Audio unit (See «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375342-S35395625342010102800000) .)
  3. Remove the screws.
  4. Disconnect the connector.
  5. Turn the hazard warning switch off. NOTE: Turning off the hazard warning switch provides better visibility of the connection area between the hazard warning switch and the hazard warning switch panel.
  6. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the position shown in the illustration, lift it up in the direction of the arrow and shift the tab.
  7. Pull out the hazard warning switch in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration. CAUTION: If the hazard warning switch is forcefully removed, the hazard warning switch panel will interfere with the audio panel and cause scratching or other damage. When removing the hazard warning switch, pull it out while pressing the hazard warning switch panel.
  8. Remove the hazard warning switch panel in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
  9. Remove the screw.
  10. Remove the short-code from the hook.

  3. Connect the negative battery cable.

  1. Verify that the continuity between the hazard warning switch terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace the hazard warning switch.

Switch Bezel Component Removal Note

  1. Access the switch bezel component from behind of the dashboard, and squeeze the tabs of the switch bezel component.
  2. Remove the switch bezel component from the dashboard.

AUTO LIGHT/WIPER CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

CAUTIONPerform the auto light/wiper control module configuration after replacing the auto light/wiper control module to assure that the auto light/wiper system operates correctly.

  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
