COMBINATION SWITCH DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY

CAUTIONIf the disc on the combination switch is deformed or has foreign material adhering to it, performance of the steering angle sensor may be reduced, causing abnormal operation. Do not remove the clock spring except when replacing the combination switch.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.
  2. Remove the following parts: Driver-side air bag module (See «PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581610-S16434598032013101400000).) Steering wheel (See «STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITHOUT ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM]»(ref-581622-S34424186902013101400000).) (See «STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM]»(ref-581622-S06798620582013101400000).)   3. Remove the combination switch. (See «COMBINATION SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581620-S26915536712013101400000).)
  4. Remove the screws shown in the figures, then pull the light switch, and the wiper and washer switch in the direction of the arrow respectively to remove them. (Scheme 38): Wiper And Washer Switch Screws
  5. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Scheme 39: LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the column cover. (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S36009183262013101400000).)
  3. Disconnect the connector. (Scheme 39): Light Switch, Connector And Screws
  4. Remove the screws shown in the figure, then remove the light switch by pulling it in the direction of the arrow.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the column cover. (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S36009183262013101400000).)
  3. Remove the light switch. (See «LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581620-S37675865962013101400000).)
  4. Verify that the continuity between the light switch terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace the light switch. (Scheme 40): Light Switch Connector Terminals Continuity Chart (Vehicles Without Auto Light System)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the column cover. (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S36009183262013101400000).)
  3. Remove the light switch. (See «LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581620-S37675865962013101400000).)
  4. Verify that the continuity between the light switch terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace the light switch. (Scheme 41): Light Switch Connector Terminals Continuity Chart (Vehicles With Auto Light System)

Scheme 42: FRONT FOG LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the column cover. (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S36009183262013101400000).)
  3. Remove the light switch. (See «LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581620-S37675865962013101400000).)
  4. Verify that the continuity between the front fog light switch terminals is as indicated in the table. If not as indicated in the table, replace the light switch. (Scheme 42): Front Fog Light Switch Connector Terminals Continuity Chart

Scheme 43: HAZARD WARNING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the center panel upper. (See «CENTER PANEL UPPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S25330971132013101400000).)
  3. Squeeze the tabs of hazard warning switch and pull it outward to remove it. (Scheme 43): Hazard Warning Switch Tabs
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the center panel upper. (See «CENTER PANEL UPPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S25330971132013101400000).)
  3. Remove the hazard warning switch. (See «HAZARD WARNING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581620-S12670129072013101400000).)
  4. Verify that the continuity between the hazard switch terminals is as indicated in the table. (Scheme 44): Identifying Hazard Warning Switch Connector Terminals If not as indicated in the table, replace the hazard warning switch.   5. Apply battery voltage to hazard switch terminal D, and connect terminal C to ground.
  6. Verify that the LED illuminates. If there is any malfunction, replace the hazard warning switch.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  4. Remove the headlight leveling switch.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  2. Verify that the resistance between the headlight leveling switch terminals is as indicated in the table. (Scheme 47): Identifying Headlight Leveling Switch Connector Terminals If not as indicated in the table, or if the resistance is not within the specification, replace the headlight leveling switch.   3. Apply battery voltage to headlight leveling switch terminal E, and connect terminal A to ground.
  4. Verify that the LED illuminates. If there is any malfunction, replace the headlight leveling switch.

Scheme 50: AUTO LIGHT-OFF CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the dashboard under cover (Driver side). (See «DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-581614-S27123962102013101400000).)
  3. Remove the nut. (Scheme 50): Auto Light-Off Control Module Connectors And Nut With Torque Specification
  4. Disconnect the connectors.
  5. Remove the auto light-off control module.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
