5INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN BATTERY AND DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE Disconnect the negative battery cable. Inspect for continuity between the following terminals: Positive battery-headlight relay terminal D HEAD LO RH 10 A fuse-discharge headlight control module terminal A HEAD LO LH 10 A fuse-discharge headlight control module terminal A Are the wiring harnesses normal?YesGo to the next step.
NoReplace the related wiring harness.
6INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE AND GROUND Inspect wiring harness between discharge headlight control module terminal B and ground for following: Short to power supply Open circuit Is the wiring harness normal?YesGo to the next step.
NoReplace the related wiring harness.
7VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT OR DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE Install any other discharge headlight. (See HEADLIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Connect the discharge headlight control module connector. Turn the light switch to the HEAD (LO) position. Does the headlight (low-beam) illuminate?YesReplace the discharge headlight. (See HEADLIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
NoReplace the discharge headlight control module. (See DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

Scheme 6: AUTO LIGHT/WIPER CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION
  1. Connect the M-MDS (IDS) to the DLC-2. (Scheme 6): Identifying DLC-2
  2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the IDS. Select "Module Programming".
  3. Then, select items from the screen menu in the following order. Select "Programmable Module Installation". Select "LCM".
  4. Perform the configuration according to the directions on the screen.
  5. Retrieve DTCs by the M-MDS, then verify that there is no DTC present. If a DTC (s) is detected, perform the applicable DTC inspection. (See «DTC INSPECTION [AUTO LIGHT/WIPER CONTROL MODULE]»(ref-581704-S20555176972013101400000).)

Note. Other than the above conditions, an "Japan Only" command is also displayed, however, do not select the command because it is for use other than in Japan. If the mode is set to "Extra High (Except Japan)" and "High (Except Japan)", the illumination level for illuminating the TNS and headlight increases. Therefore, the TNS and headlights illuminate when the ambient light is brighter than when the level is set to "Standard (Except Japan)". In addition, if the mode is set to "Low (Except Japan)" and "Extra Low (Except Japan)", the illumination level for illuminating the TNS and headlights decreases. Therefore, the TNS and headlights illuminate when the ambient light is lower than when the level is set to "Standard (Except Japan)".
