AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note. The audio control switch and the cruise control switch use a common connector.

Scheme 6: AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288735-S37348545342008062500000) )
  3. Remove the steering wheel.
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See «DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288735-S37348545342008062500000) )
  3. Disconnect the audio control switch connector.
  4. Measure the resistance and inspect for continuity between the cruise control switch terminals using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the cruise control switch.

Scheme 9: MICROPHONE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the panel No.1. (See «CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288737-S36891767012008062500000) )
  3. Remove the panel No.2. (See «CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288737-S36891767012008062500000) )
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the console. (See «CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288737-S36891767012008062500000) )
  3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 12: Socket Removal Note
  1. Remove the socket by pushing on the protrusion with a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver inserted through the socket hole, and pulling the socket toward you.

Scheme 13: Cap Removal Note
  1. Pull the cap forward while squeezing the tabs.

Scheme 14: ACCESSORY SOCKET INSPECTION
  1. Remove the accessory socket. (See «ACCESSORY SOCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-288740-S19453684382008062500000) ).
  2. Inspect for continuity between the accessory socket terminals B and C using an ohmmeter as shown in the figure. If not as specified, replace the accessory socket.
