EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the evaporator temperature sensor from the A/C unit. See «A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [L3, AJ].»(ref-288775-S05121314082008062500000)

  1. Turn the AUTO switch on. (Full-auto air conditioner)
  2. Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.
  3. Push the A/C switch.
  4. Set the RECIRCULATE mode.
  5. Close all doors and windows.
  6. Wait for 5 min .
  7. Remove the glove compartment.
  8. Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor.
  9. Measure the temperature at the blower inlet.
  10. Measure the resistance between terminals of the evaporator temperature sensor. If the resistance is not as shown in the graph, replace the evaporator temperature sensor.

WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3, AJ]

  1. Remove the water temperature sensor from the A/C unit. See «A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [L3, AJ].»(ref-288775-S05121314082008062500000)

  1. Measure the temperature around the water temperature sensor.
  2. Measure the resistance between terminals of the water temperature sensor. If the resistance is not as shown in the graph, replace the water temperature sensor.

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Discharge the refrigerant from the system. See «REFRIGERANT CHARGING [L3, AJ].»(ref-288813-S39589263272008062500000)
  3. Remove the front combination light (RH). See «FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288774-S21144454912008062500000)
  4. Loosen the refrigerant pressure switch using two spanners.
  5. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Refrigerant Pressure Switch Installation Note

  1. Apply compressor oil to O-ring and connect the joint.

  1. Install the manifold gauge set.
  2. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure switch connector.
  3. Verify the high-pressure side reading of the manifold gauge and continuity between the terminals of the refrigerant pressure switch. If not as specified, replace the refrigerant pressure switch.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the air mix wire from wire clamp and link. (Manual air conditioner)
  3. Remove the center panel unit. See «CENTER PANEL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.»(ref-288740-S22044634672008062500000)
  4. Remove the screws and climate control unit. (Full-auto air conditioner)
  5. Release the hook and pull the climate control unit toward you. (Manual air conditioner)
  6. Disconnect the climate control unit (Manual air conditioner)

  1. Pass air mix wire through the following routes then connect to A/C unit. (Manual air conditioner)
  2. Connect the climate control unit connectors (Manual A/C)
  3. Install the climate control unit to the center panel (Full-auto A/C)
  4. Install the center panel.
  5. Adjust the climate control unit wire (Manual A/C). See «CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT WIRE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-288779-S13352064562008062500000) .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.

  1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
  2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
