INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

1. Disconnect the evaporative hose No.3 (purge solenoid valve side) and install the vacuum gauge. (See «PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520424-S36262978602013010300000) .)
2. Verify that the intake air hoses are installed securely.
3. Warm up the engine.
4. Measure the intake manifold vacuum while idling (no load) using the vacuum gauge. If not within the specification, perform the following inspections. Air suction Installation areas of each vacuum hose Installation area of throttle body Installation area of fuel injector Installation area of PCV valve Installation area of intake manifold Standard Approx. -60.0 kPa {-450.0 mmHg, -17.7 inHg}

AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

1. Remove the air cleaner element. (See «AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520422-S10142985372013010300000) .)
2. Inspect the following items: Has the replacement interval come? Is the air cleaner element soiled, damaged, or bent? Are the air cleaner case and the air cleaner element correctly sealed? Is the correct air cleaner element installed? If there is any abnormality, clean or replace the air cleaner element. 1. Remove the battery cover. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520427-S28538867222013010300000).)
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520427-S28538867222013010300000).)
3. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
4. Measure the resistance between throttle body terminals E and F. (Scheme 167): Identifying Throttle Body Connector Terminals Throttle body resistance 0.3-100 ohms [20°C {68 °F}] If not as specified, replace the throttle body. Scheme 168

1. Remove the vacuum hose. (See «INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520422-S09166380872013010300000).)
2. Blow air into the vacuum hose using your mouth from the vacuum pump side and verify that the air flows to the intake manifold side, then blow air from the intake manifold side and verify that the air does not flow to the vacuum pump side. (Scheme 168): Inspecting Airflow In Vacuum Hose If there is any malfunction in the check valve, replace it with the vacuum hose as a single unit. 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See «BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-520427-S28538867222013010300000).)
3. Remove the driver-side lower panel. (See «LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-520454-S41081192382013010300000).)
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table. (Scheme 169): Accelerator Pedal With Torque Specifications
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
