- Remove in the order indicated.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Adjust the windshield wiper arm and blade. (See «WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ADJUSTMENT».)
Scheme 4
- Clean the windshield wiper arm connector shafts using a wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arms.
Scheme 5
- Operate the windshield wipers, and turn off the windshield wiper motor to set the wipers in the park position.
- Adjust the windshield wiper arm connector shafts to set the arm heights as shown.
Scheme 6
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the windshield wiper arm and blade. (See «WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».)
- Remove the cowl grille. (See «COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/mazda/3/bk-2003-2006/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-trim) .)
- Remove the cowl panel. (See «COWL PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».)
- Remove the bolts.
- Move the windshield wiper motor in the direction of the arrow, remove the securing rubber from the stud pin (for connecting the motor securing rubber), and then remove the windshield wiper motor.
- Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
- Connect battery positive voltage to windshield wiper motor terminal A or B, and ground to terminal D, then verify that the windshield wipers operate as indicated. If the windshield wipers do not operate as indicated in the table, replace the windshield wiper motor.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front bumper. (See «FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».)
- Disconnect the windshield washer motor connector and windshield washer hose.
- Disconnect the rear washer motor connector and rear washer hose. (5 door)
- Disconnect the washer fluid-level sensor connector. (Vehicles with the washer fluid-level sensor)
- Remove the bolts and nut, then remove the washer tank.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 11
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the washer tank. (See «WASHER TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».)
- Remove the windshield washer motor, then remove the grommet.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 12
- Connect battery positive voltage to windshield washer motor terminal A and terminal B to ground.
- Verify that the windshield washer motor operates normally. If there is any malfunction, replace the windshield washer motor.
Scheme 13
- Remove the hood insulator.
- Remove the windshield washer hose from the windshield washer nozzle.
- Squeeze the tabs of the windshield washer nozzle.
- Pull the windshield washer nozzle out to remove it.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 14
- Clean the washer nozzle by inserting and moving a needle or an equivalent tool back and forth. If the nozzle becomes clogged again after cleaning, remove the hose from washer nozzle. Make sure there is enough washer fluid. Then turn the washer switch on and flush the inside of the hose.
Scheme 15
- Remove the hood insulator. (See «HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».)
- Slightly bend back the mudguard (RH).
- Disconnect joint pipe A.
- Remove windshield washer hose A from clips A.
- Remove clips B.
- Disconnect windshield washer hose B from the washer nozzle.
- Disconnect windshield washer hose C from the washer nozzle.
- Disconnect joint pipe B, then remove windshield washer hose A, B and C.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 16
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the washer tank. (See «WASHER TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION» )
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the washer fluid-level sensor.
- Remove the grommet.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Inspect for continuity between the washer fluid-level sensor terminals using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the washer fluid-level sensor.
Scheme 19
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the following parts: Front scuff plate (Driver's side) (See «FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».) Front side trim (Driver's side) (See «FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».) Hood release lever (See «HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».) Lower panel (See «LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».) Column cover (See «COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION».)
- Disconnect the wiper and washer switch connector.
- Remove the screws, then remove the wiper and washer switch.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
