Removal and Installation

| WARNING | Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury. |
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-494597) .
- Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.
- Disconnect the vapor tube-to-EVAP canister purge valve quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Remove the bolts and the canister purge valve. Remove and discard the O-ring seal. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Use a new O-ring seal.
- Carry out the EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST»(ref-494625-S27398455452012081400000) .

Scheme 123
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-494560) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-494597) .
- Remove the 4 bolts, the 4 trim pins, the 2 push pins, and the Aero shield. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube to the dust separator.
- Remove the 3 EVAP canister bolts. To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Release the pin-type retainer and remove the EVAP canister.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Carry out the EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST»(ref-494625-S27398455452012081400000) .

- Disconnect the 2 fuel vapor tubes from the EVAP canister vent solenoid/dust separator.
- Depress the tab and remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid/dust separator from the EVAP canister bracket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Carry out the EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST»(ref-494625-S27398455452012081400000) .

Note. The fuel vapor tube assembly is a 2 part assembly. One tube connects to the fuel tank and includes the fuel tank pressure sensor. Another tube connects to the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister. The 2 tubes are connected by a quick connect coupling.
Both fuel vapor tube assemblies
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-494560) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-494597) .
- Remove the 4 bolts, the 4 trim pins, the 2 push pins, and the Aero shield. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister fuel vapor tube assembly
- Disconnect the fuel tank fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister fuel vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the EVAP canister fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the EVAP canister fuel vapor tube from the fuel bundle retainers and remove the EVAP canister fuel vapor tube assembly. Fuel tank fuel vapor tube assembly
- Position the Powertrain Lift under the fuel tank.
- Remove the 4 fuel tank strap bolts and partially lower the fuel tank. To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the fuel tank fuel vapor tube-to-Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister fuel vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the fuel tank fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel pump module quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the fuel tank tube-to-fuel tank fuel vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-494614) .
- Disconnect the fuel tank fuel vapor tube assembly from the retainers and remove the fuel tank fuel vapor tube assembly. Both fuel vapor tube assemblies
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Carry out the EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST»(ref-494625-S27398455452012081400000) .
