  1. INSTALL NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Apply Primer G to the glass where the stoppers will be installed. NOTE: Allow the Primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. Install 2 new stoppers onto the glass as shown in the illustration. (Scheme 83): Identifying Length Of Applied Primer G To Glass Standard measurement AREA SPECIFIED CONDITION Area Specified Condition a 40.0 mm (1.575 in.) b 10.5 mm (0.413 in.)
  2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS RETAINER Install 2 new retainers onto the glass, as shown in the illustration.
  3. INSTALL WINDOW GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Apply Primer G to the glass where the adhesive dams will be installed. NOTE: Allow the Primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. (Scheme 84): Identifying Retainer Remove the peeling paper from the adhesive part of the dam. Install the dam (adhesive side) to the glass (Primer G area) as shown in the illustration. (Scheme 85): Identifying Adhesive Applied Area To Glass Standard measurement AREA SPECIFIED CONDITION Area Specified Condition a 7.0 mm (0.276 in.) b 48.5 mm (1.909 in.)
  4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTER UPPER Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the glass where the moulding will be installed. NOTE: Allow the Primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. Install new moulding before the adhesive dries.
  5. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. NOTE: Allow the Primer M to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply Primer M to the adhesive. Throw away any leftover Primer M. Do not apply too much Primer M. (Scheme 86): Applying Primer M To Exposed Part Of Vehicle Body Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the glass. NOTE: Allow the Primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. HINT: If Primer G is applied to an area that is not specified, apply a non-residve solvent to a clean cloth and wipe off the excess primer. (Scheme 87): Applying Primer G To Contact Surface Of Glass Apply adhesive to the glass. Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or Equivalent Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration. HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below. Usage time frame TEMPERATURE REFERENCE CHART Temperature Usage Time Frame 35°C (95°F) 15 minutes 20°C (68°F) 1 hour 40 minutes 5°C (41°F) 8 hours Load the sealer gun with the cartridge. Coat the glass with adhesive, as shown in the illustration. Standard measurement AREA SPECIFIED CONDITION Area Specified Condition a 12.0 mm (0.472 in.) b 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) c 6.5 mm (0.256 in.) d 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) (Scheme 88): Identifying Applied Area Of Adhesive To Glass Install the glass to the vehicle body. Using a suction cup, position the glass so that the matchmarks are aligned. Press it in gently along the rim. Lightly press the front surface of the glass to ensure that it is securely fit to the vehicle body. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly. Check that the vehicle body and glass have a small gap between them. (Scheme 89): Identifying Matchmarks On Glass Of Vehicle Hold the glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below. (Scheme 90): Removing Adhesive HINT: Apply adhesive on the glass rim. Minimum time TEMPERATURE REFERENCE CHART Temperature Minimum prior to driving vehicle 35°C (95°F) 1.5 hours 20°C (68°F) 5 hours 5°C (41°F) 24 hours (Scheme 91): Applying Adhesive On Glass Rim
  6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE RH (Scheme 92): Installing Windshield Moulding Outside RH Using an air riveter or hand riveter with nose piece, strike rivets into the body panel. NOTE: Do not pry the rivet with the riveter, as this will cause damage to the riveter and mandrel. (Scheme 93): Identifying Incorrect Position Of Rivet Confirm that the rivets are seated properly against the moulding outside. Do not tilt the riveter when installing the rivet to the moulding outside. Do not leave any space between the rivet head and the moulding outside. (Scheme 94): Identifying Rivet Seated Properly Do not have any space between the moulding outside and body panel. Firmly hold together the 2 items while installing the rivet.   7. INSTALL WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE LH HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
  8. INSTALL FRONT BODY PILLAR ASSEMBLY OUTER RH Replace the clip with a new one. Install the front right body pillar assembly outer with 5 clips and nut.

  30. CHECK FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.

  1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Inspect the operation of the power window regulator motor (quarter window motor LH). Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check operation of the motor. (Scheme 96): Inspecting Power Window Regulator Motor (Quarter Window Motor LH) OK MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION Measurement Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1 Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 2 Turns clockwise Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 2 Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1 Turns counterclockwise If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH Inspect the operation of the power window regulator motor (quarter window motor RH). Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check operation of the motor.   4. REMOVE BACK WINDOW OUTSIDE MOULDING Using a knife, cut through the moulding as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body with the knife, Remove the remaining moulding. HINT: Make a partial cut in the moulding. Then pull and remove it by hand.   5. REMOVE BACK WINDOW GLASS Remove the 2 nuts. (Scheme 100): Identifying Back Window Glass Nuts From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wood-en blocks) to both wire ends. NOTE: When separating the glass from the vehicle, be care-ful mot to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exteri-or ornaments. HINT: Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent its surface from being scratched. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass. Using a suction cup, remove the glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the glass. (Scheme 101): Identifying Piano Wire, Clip And Spacer
  6. REMOVE BACK WINDOW PACKING Remove the back window packing. (Scheme 102): Removing Back Window Packing
  7. CLEAN BACK WINDOW GLASS Using a scraper, remove the damaged dams and adhesive sticking to the glass. Clean the outer edges of the glass with a non-residve solvent. NOTE: Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it. Even if using new glass, clean it with a non-residve solvent. (Scheme 103): Removing Damaged Dams And Adhesive Sticking To Glass

  1. INSTALL BACK WINDOW GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Apply primer G to the installation part of the glass adhesive dam. NOTE: Allow the primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. Remove the peeling paper from the adhesive part of the dam. Install the dam (adhesive side) to the glass (Primer G area) as shown in the illustration. Standard measurement AREA MEASUREMENT SPECIFIED CONDITION Area Measurement a 0.7 mm (0.028 in.)
  2. INSTALL BACK WINDOW OUTSIDE MOULDING Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the glass where the moulding will be installed. NOTE: Allow the Primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. Install the back window outside moulding. (Scheme 104): Identifying Primer G Area Of Glass
  3. INSTALL BACK WINDOW PACKING Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. NOTE: Allow the Primer M to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer M. Install the back window packing. (Scheme 105): Installing Back Window Packing
  4. INSTALL BACK WINDOW GLASS Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration. HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. (Scheme 106): Identifying Adhesive Area Of Vehicle Body Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner. HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body. Position the glass. Using a suction cup, place the glass in the correct position. Check that the entire contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Placing matchmarks is only necessary if the glass being installed is new. If it is reused glass, matchmarks should already be present. (Scheme 107): Identifying Glass Position When reusing the glass, check and correct the match-mark positions. Using a suction cup, remove the glass. Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. NOTE: Allow the Primer M to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply Primer M to the adhesive. Throw away any leftover Primer M. Do not apply too much Primer M. (Scheme 108): Applying Primer M To Exposed Part Of Vehicle Body Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the glass. NOTE: Allow the Primer M to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover Primer G. Do not apply too much Primer G. HINT: if Primer G is applied to an area that is not specified, apply white gasoline to a clean cloth and wipe off the excess primer. (Scheme 109): Identifying Primer Area Of Glass Apply adhesive to the glass. Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or Equivalent Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration. HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below.   14. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY RH Remove the connector and grommet. Remove the 2 bolts and 4 nuts. Remove the quarter window. (Scheme 118): Identifying Connector And Grommet

  17. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY RH When reusing the regulator: Place matchmarks on the regulator to indicate the position of the nuts. (Scheme 121): Placing Matchmarks On Regulator Remove the 3 nuts and quarter window. (Scheme 122): Identifying Quarter Window And Nuts

  1. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY RH Install the quarter window. When using a new regulator: Install the 3 nuts. Tighten the nuts as much as possible by hand. (Scheme 123): Identifying Quarter Window Assembly RH When reusing the regulator: Align the matchmarks and tighten the 3 nuts. Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
  2. INSTALL POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH Install the power window regulator and regulator base plate with the 2 screws.
  3. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW STOP Install the 2 quarter window stops with the 2 bolts. Tighten the bolts as much as possible by hand. (Scheme 124): Placing Matchmarks On Regulator
  4. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY RH Install the quarter window to the vehicle body. Loosely install the regulator's 2 bolts and nut. Tighten the motor's 3 nuts. Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
