Scheme 267

Scheme 267: PROCEDURE
  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test. Check the operation by referring to the table below. AIR CONDITIONER Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Blower Motor Blower motor Min.: 0, Max.: 31 - OK Blower motor operates and blower motor speed level changes. Result Result Proceed to OK A NG (Blower motor does not operate) B NG (Blower motor operates but does not change speed) C B --> See step 2 C --> See step 6 A --> See step 7
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR - BODY GROUND) Disconnect the blower motor connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F101-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Front view of wire harness connector (to Blower Motor) NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR - BATTERY) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F101-3 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Front view of wire harness connector (to Blower Motor) NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR - A/C AMPLIFIER) Disconnect the A/C amplifier connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F50-23 (BLW) - F101-2 (SI) Always Below 1 ohms F50-23 (BLW) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Front view of wire harness connector (to A/C Amplifier) *2 Front view of wire harness connector (to Blower Motor) NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  5. INSPECT BLOWER MOTOR Reconnect the blower motor connector. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F50-23 (BLW) - Body ground Always 4.5 to 5.5 V TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Front view of wire harness connector (to A/C Amplifier) NG --> See step 8 OK: Go to next step
  6. INSPECT A/C AMPLIFIER Remove the A/C amplifier. Reconnect the A/C amplifier connector. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Set the blower speed to LO. Measure the waveform between terminal F50-23 (BLW) of the A/C amplifier and body ground. Item Content Tool setting 1 V/DIV., 500 μs/DIV. Vehicle condition Engine switch on (IG) Blower set to LO OK Waveform is as shown in the illustration. HINT: The waveform varies with the blower speed. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Component with harness connected (A/C Amplifier) NG --> See step 9 OK --> See step 8
  7. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to «PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602709-S14820398182014030500000)
  8. REPLACE BLOWER MOTOR. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602698-S40108702732014030500000)
  9. REPLACE A/C AMPLIFIER. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602698-S09243280892014030500000)
