- PRECAUTION FOR USING BATTERY DURING INSPECTION While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.
- PRECAUTION FOR HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT If even a thin film of oil is left on the surface of the halogen light, its service life will be shortened because the light will burn at a higher temperature. Handle any halogen light with great care. Dropping, hitting or damaging the bulb, in any way, may result in it exploding and shattering because the internal pressure is high. Always prepare a new bulb for immediate replacement. While replacing the bulb, the lens may attract dust and moisture if removed from the vehicle for too long. Always use a bulb of the same wattage for replacement. Firmly reinstall the socket after bulb replacement. The lens may become cloudy or the light cavity may fill water through the gaps around the socket.

- AFS ECU If the AFS ECU detects a malfunction in the automatic headlight beam level control system or intelligent AFS, it will take the actions indicated in the table below. Trouble Area Leveling Fail-safe Control Swivel Fail-safe Control AFS OFF Indicator Light Headlight Swivel Motor Malfunction Continues to control with both headlight leveling motors lower than the current position by 0.7°. Stops the malfunctioning swivel motor at the current position. Flash Steering Angle Sensor Signal Malfunction Continues to control. Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction Continues to control. After 5 seconds, returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Height Control Sensor Signal Malfunction Stops operation after returning to the initial position (Fail at higher than the initial position). Stops operation at the current position (Fail at lower than the initial position). Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Headlight Leveling Motor Malfunction Normal side headlight leveling motor Stops operation after returning to the initial position (Fail at higher than the initial position). Stops at the current position (Fail at lower than the initial position). Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Abnormal side headlight leveling motor Stops at the current position. Communication Signal Malfunction Skid control ECU: Judges that the vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 mph) and continues control. Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Steering angle sensor: Continues to control.
- AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM (w/ Automatic High Beam System) The main body ECU operates in fail-safe mode if an abnormal condition, such as those listed below, has been detected.
