  1. REMOVE REAR UPPER DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL LH Using a molding remover, detach the 6 claws. Disconnect the connector and remove the armrest base panel.
  2. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Detach the 2 claws and remove the regulator switch.

  1. INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 2 (UP) - 5 (GND) Manual up operation Below 1 ohms 10 (DOWN) - 5 (GND) Manual down operation Below 1 ohms 4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Auto up/down operation Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the rear power window regulator switch assembly. Check that the LED illuminates. Apply battery voltage to the regulator switch and check that the LED illuminates. OK Measurement Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) --> 8 (LED) Battery negative (-) --> 5 (GND) LED illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the rear power window regulator switch assembly.

  1. INSTALL REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY Attach the 2 claws to install the regulator switch.
  2. INSTALL REAR UPPER DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL LH Connect the connector. Attach the 6 claws to install the armrest base panel.

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. NOTE: w/ Navigation System: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-385196-S36681500272011021400000) .

  1. INSPECT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Apply positive (+) battery voltage to the connector terminal 2 (B). NOTE: Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminals except terminal 2 (B) to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor. Apply negative (-) battery voltage to the connector terminals 1 (GND) and 7 (DOWN) or 10 (UP). Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows. OK Measurement Condition Specified Condition Connect the positive (+) battery cable to terminal 2 (B), and connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 1 (GND), and keep them connected for 3 seconds or more. With terminals 2 (B) and 1 (GND) connected, connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 10 (UP). Disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 10 (UP) within 1 second. Motor gear rotates clockwise (Up) Connect the positive (+) battery cable to terminal 2 (B), and connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 1 (GND), and keep them connected for 3 seconds or more. With terminals 2 (B) and 1 (GND) connected, connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 7 (DOWN). Disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 7 (DOWN) within 1 second. Motor gear rotates counterclockwise (Down) If the result is not as specified, replace the regulator motor assembly. WARNING: Reset the power window regulator motor (initialize the pulse sensor) after installing the power window regulator motor and regulator assembly onto the door.

  1. INSTALL FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the regulator motor. Using a T25 "TORX" driver, install the motor with the 3 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m ( 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) HINT: A new front window regulator uses self-tapping screws to thread new installation holes when the self-tapping screws are inserted.

  10. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING LH Remove the windshield outside molding. Put protective tape around the molding. Using a molding remover, detach the 6 clips and remove the molding. NOTE: When removing the windshield outside molding, be careful not to damage the roof drip side finish molding clip labeled A in the illustration. If a roof drip side finish molding clip is damaged or becomes detached from the vehicle, replace it with a new one.
  11. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING RH HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
  12. REMOVE NO. 4 WINDSHIELD MOLDING PAD Remove the 4 No. 4 windshield molding pads. HINT: Use the same procedure to remove the 4 pads on the other side.
  13. REMOVE NO. 3 WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any No. 3 windshield outside molding clip(s). Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill. Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill. HINT: Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep. Lightly press the drill against the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip(s), drill off the flanges of the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip(s), and remove the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip(s). WARNING: Be careful of the drilled No. 3 windshield outside molding clips as they may become hot. NOTE: Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip to turn and result in the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip not being drilled through. Do not pry the No. 3 windshield outside molding clips with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the No. 3 windshield outside molding clips or the drill bit. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip fragments and shavings from the drilled areas. HINT: Use the same procedure to remove the clip(s) on the other side.
  14. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOLDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any roof drip side finish molding clips. Remove the roof drip side finish molding clips. HINT: Use the same procedure to remove the clip on the other side.

Pull the shaded area shown in the illustration by hand to remove the windshield outside molding. HINT: Make a partial cut in the molding. Then pull and remove it by hand.
  31. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends. NOTE: When separating the glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments. To prevent the instrument panel from being scratched when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and instrument panel. NOTE: Matchmarks do not need to be placed if not reusing the glass. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. w/ Windshield Deicer System: Disconnect the windshield deicer connector. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the glass. Disconnect the stoppers. Using suction cups, remove the glass.
  32. REMOVE NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Using a scraper, remove the 2 stoppers.
  33. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Using a scraper, remove the dam.
  34. REMOVE FRONT INNER WINDOW MOLDING COVER LH Using a scraper, remove the cover.
  35. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dam and adhesive sticking to the glass. Clean the outer circumference of the glass with non-residue solvent. NOTE: Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it. Be careful not to damage the glass. Even if using new glass, clean the glass with non-residue solvent.
  36. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Remove the 2 windshield glass stoppers.
  37. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.   1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Install 2 new stoppers to the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
  2. INSTALL NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Apply Primer G to the glass where the stopper will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Install 2 new stoppers onto the glass as shown in the illustration. Standard Area Specified Condition a 13.2 mm (0.520 in.)
  3. INSTALL WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING Using a brush or sponge, coat the contact surface of the glass and molding with Primer G as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer G. Throw away any leftover primer. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below. Install the molding as shown in the illustration.
  4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Apply Primer G to the glass where the glass adhesive dam will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the adhesive part of the dam. Install the dam (adhesive side) to the glass (Primer G area), but exclude the area above the notches on the upper part of the glass.
  5. INSTALL FRONT INNER WINDOW MOLDING COVER LH Apply Primer G to the glass where the inner window molding cover will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the inner window molding cover. Install the cover to the glass, as shown in the illustration. Standard Area Specified Condition a 14.0 mm (0.551 in.)
  6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS Position the glass. Using suction cups, place the glass in the correct position. Check that the entire contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even. Place matchmarks on the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Placing matchmarks is only necessary when installing new glass. If it is the reused glass, matchmarks should already be present. When reusing the glass, check and correct the matchmark positions. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly. Using suction cups, remove the glass. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply primer to the adhesive. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the glass. Standard Area Specified Condition a 9.0 mm (0.354 in.) b 7.0 mm (0.276 in.) c 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) d 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) e 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) HINT: If the primer is applied to an area that is not specified, apply non-residue solvent to a clean cloth and wipe off the excess primer before it dries. Check that the vehicle body and glass have a small gap between them. Hold the glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below. Apply a 2 to 3 mm (0.0787 to 0.118 in.) bead of adhesive (3M DP-105 or equivalent) to a new roof drip side finish molding clip. HINT: Adhesive strength (tensile strength): 13.7 MPa (140 kgf/cm 2 , 1991 psi) or more when the temperature is 23°C (73°F). Apply primer to the body where the roof drip side finish molding clip will be installed. NOTE: Do not let the primer dry. Install the clips to the positions on the roof panel shown in the illustration. Determine the locations and firmly press and install the roof drip side finish molding clip after lightly applying adhesive (3M DP-105 or equivalent). Standard Area Specified Condition a -0.5 to 9.5 mm (0.0197 to 0.374 in.) b -3.0 to 3.0 mm (-0.118 to 0.118 in.) Install the windshield outside molding when 40 minutes or more have elapsed after pressing and installing the roof drip side finish molding clip.   25. INSTALL NO. 3 WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any No. 3 windshield outside molding clip(s). Install a nose piece to an air riveter or hand riveter. Insert the mandrel part of a new No. 3 windshield outside molding clip into the nose piece. NOTE: Do not pry the rivet with the riveter, as this will cause damage to the riveter and mandrel. Confirm that the riveter are seated properly against the molding. Do not tilt the riveter when installing the rivet to the molding. Do not leave any space between the rivet head and molding. Do not leave any space between the molding and body. Firmly hold together the 2 items while installing the rivet. Using the riveter, install the No. 3 windshield outside molding clip(s) shown in the illustration. HINT: If the rivet cannot be cut, pull it once and cut it.
  26. INSTALL NO. 4 WINDSHIELD MOLDING PAD Install the 4 No. 4 molding pads. HINT: Use the same procedure to install the 4 windshield molding pads on the other side.
  27. INSTALL WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING LH Attach the 6 clips to install the molding. Remove the protective tape from the edges of the molding.

  1. INSPECT BACK WINDOW GLASS (DEFOGGER WIRE) NOTE: When cleaning the glass, wipe the glass along the wire using a soft, dry cloth. Take care not to damage the defogger wires. Do not use detergents or glass cleaners that have abrasive ingredients. When measuring voltage, wrap a piece of tin foil around the tip of the negative (-) tester probe and press the foil against the wire with your finger, as shown in the illustration. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the defogger switch on. Measure the voltage at the center of each defogger wire as shown in the illustration. Standard Voltage Voltage Criteria Approx. 5 V Wire is not broken Approx. 10 or 0 V Wire is broken HINT: If there is approximately 10 V, the wire may be faulty between the center of the wire and the wire end on the battery side. If there is no voltage, the wire may be faulty between the center of the wire end and the wire end on the ground side. Place the voltmeter positive (+) lead against the defogger wire on the battery side. Place the voltmeter negative (-) lead with the foil strip against the wire on the ground side. Slide the positive (+) lead from the battery side to the ground side. The point where the voltage drops from approximately 10 V to 0 V is where the defogger wire is broken. HINT: If the defogger wire is not broken, the voltmeter indicates 0 V at the positive (+) end of the defogger wire and gradually increases to approximately 12 V as the meter probe moves to the other end.

  1. REPAIR DEFOGGER WIRE Clean the broken wire tips with grease, wax and silicone remover. Place masking tape along both sides of the wire. Thoroughly mix the repair agent. DuPont paste No. 4817 or equivalent Using a fine tip brush, apply a small amount of the agent to the wire. After a few minutes, remove the masking tape. NOTE: Do not allow electricity to flow in the defogger wire for at least 24 hours.

  1. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING Remove the roof headlining. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-385215-S04229035382011021400000) .
  2. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY HINT: Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches. NOTE: When separating the quarter window glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments. LH Side: Disconnect the connector. RH Side: Disconnect the 2 connectors. Using a knife, cut off the molding as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and the quarter window glass as shown in the illustration. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the quarter window glass. Using suction cups, remove the quarter window glass.
  3. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration. HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner. HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
