Occupant Classification System (Diagnostic Codes): Other Lexus LX J200

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTC Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-385313-S18166417782011021400000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-385233-S26916866102011021400000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 10 seconds. Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-385313-S18166417782011021400000) . OK DTC B1795 is not output. HINT: Codes other than DTC B1795 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check. NG --> See step 2 OK --> See step 5
  2. REPLACE NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, save the ECU data from the ECU which is installed in the vehicle. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-385313-S25701287342011021400000) . Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the No. 1 seat cushion (occupant classification ECU). Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-385219-S07493195202011021400000) . Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, load the previous ECU data stored in the Techstream into the new ECU. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-385313-S25701287342011021400000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-385313-S18166417782011021400000) . HINT: If DTCs are not cleared at this time, past DTCs will remain. NEXT: Go to next step
  3. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, perform zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-385313-S14540855742011021400000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-385313-S18166417782011021400000) . HINT: If the DTCs are not cleared at this time, past DTCs will remain. NEXT: Go to next step
  4. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-385313-S14540855742011021400000) . NEXT --> END

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPECIFIED CONDITION FOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, read the "Data List". Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-385313-S01735366472011021400000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-385233-S26916866102011021400000) . NEXT: Go to next step

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PASSENGER SIDE BUCKLE SWITCH) Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, read the "Data List". Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-385313-S01735366472011021400000) . Read the display when the passenger side buckle switch is operated.   5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR) Fasten the passenger side seat belt. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Using the Techstream, read the value of the "Data List". Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-385313-S01735366472011021400000) . OCCUPANT DETECTION Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Filtered belt tension output Filtered belt tension output / Min.: 0, Max.: 255 39 to 229 - OK When there is no tension on belt, 39 to 229 is displayed on the Techstream.   6. CHECK CONNECTOR Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and the detection sensor. Check that the connectors (on the center airbag sensor side and occupant detection sensor side) are not damaged. OK Connectors are not deformed or damaged. NG --> REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH OK: Go to next step

  11. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Turn the engine switch off. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat inner belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-385314-S28374368152011021400000) . Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds. NEXT: Go to next step

Replace the front seat outer belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-385314-S20923964312011021400000) . Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
