The vehicle height adjustment system improves occupants' in-and-out access by quickly lowering vehicle height at the touch of a switch. By raising vehicle height, the occurrence of road interference can be minimized on unpaved roads. Also, by maintaining a constant vehicle height regardless of load conditions such as number of occupants or weight of cargo, under prescribed loading condition, suspension stroke can be utilized effectively to ensure constantly stable riding comfort.
The damping force control system controls suspension to achieve an optimal damping force in accordance with roughness of road surface. Furthermore, through the use of various types of sensors, this system detects vehicle's operating condition to obtain an optimal damping force to provide riding comfort, stability and controllability.

- The height control indicator light has been provided below the tachometer in the combination meter. It informs the driver by illuminating the indicator light for present vehicle height position. When the height select switch is pressed to effect height control, the indicator for present height position turns off and the indicator light for target height position flashes. After height control is completed, the indicator light for height position that has been reached illuminates. For location of indicator lights (Scheme 19)
- The height control OFF indicator light is located under the height control indicator light. This lights up to inform driver when active height control system is turned off by the height control switch. This indicator also flashes to alert driver when the suspension control ECU detects a malfunction in active height control and electric modulated suspension. TEST D: HEIGHT CONTROL OPERATION TEST (ACTIVE TEST)
Note. DO NOT raise vehicle height higher than "HI" position when raising with active test.
- Using special tool (09843-18020), jumper between terminals Ts and E 1 of (DLC1). see scheme 125
- Start engine. Push "DOWN" button of height select switch 5 times or more within 5 seconds. (Scheme 20) Height control OFF indicator light should flash at.25 second intervals.
- Operate each switch and check operation of height control of each wheel. (Scheme 21)
