Control Valve Assembly
The control valve assembly consists of leveling valves for adjusting vehicles height and gate valves for controlling right-left wheel communication function. There are 4 valves each for front and rear. (Scheme 145)
- Leveling Valve - This valve opens and closes oil passage between pump and gas chamber located at each wheel. Normally oil passage remains closed and, during vehicle height control, oil passage opens in accordance with signal received from suspension control ECU. (Scheme 146)
- Gate Valve - This valve opens and closes oil passage between right and left shock absorbers. Normally oil passage remains open connecting right and left shock absorbers. When suspension control ECU determines that oil passage between right and left shock absorbers must be closed, gate valve activates to close oil passage. (Scheme 147)

Disassembly
- Remove active height control pump and motor. See «ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL PUMP & MOTOR»(ref-154858-S20680697902003052900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove bolts and pull out reservoir. (Scheme 148)
- Insert a flat-head screwdriver into slit of cover until it reaches reservoir cap. Turn cap and cover together and remove. (Scheme 149)
- Remove cover from cap.
- Remove strainer and grommet from reservoir.
- Remove bolts and reservoir bracket from housing. Remove cushions from reservoir bracket.
- Remove fluid pressure sensor from housing.
- Remove fluid temperature sensor from housing.
- Remove bolts, pump cover and O-ring.
- Using a hexagon wrench, remove bolts and pump sub-assembly. (Scheme 150)
- Remove O-ring.
- Remove bolts and pump motor from housing.
- Remove motor joint.
- Using a screwdriver, remove oil seal. Be careful not to damage housing. (Scheme 151)

Reassembly
- Using special tool (09950-60010/70010 & 09951-00310/07100) and a hammer, install NEW oil seal. (Scheme 152)
- Install pump motor with bolts and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install motor joint.
- Install NEW O-ring to housing. Align pin of pump sub-assembly and housing. Be careful that shaft portion does not interfere with other portions. (Scheme 153)
- Using a hexagon wrench, install bolts and pump sub-assembly and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install NEW O-ring and pump cover with bolts. Tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install fluid temperature sensor to pump cover and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install fluid pressure sensor to housing and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install cushions to reservoir bracket. Install reservoir bracket with bolts to housing and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install NEW grommet to reservoir. Install strainer. Install cover to cap.
- Install flat-head screwdriver into slit of cover until it reaches reservoir cap. Turn cap and cover together to install.
- Install reservoir with bolts and tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-154858-S39302085462003052900000).
- Install active height control pump and motor. See «ACTIVE HEIGHT CONTROL PUMP & MOTOR»(ref-154858-S20680697902003052900000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
