Note. Avoid physical shock to the accelerator pedal. Do not disassemble the accelerator pedal assembly.
- INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL Install the accelerator pedal with the 2 bolts. Torque: 5.4 N*m ( 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.

- INSTALL MASS AIR FLOW METER Install a new O-ring to the MAF meter. Install the MAF meter with the 2 screws. Connect the MAF meter connector.

- INSPECT CHECK VVT SENSOR OUTPUT VOLTAGE Turn the engine switch on (IG). Check the voltage between the terminals. - INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR NOTE: In the table above, the terms "cold" and "hot" refer to the temperature of the coils. "Cold" means approximately -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F). "Hot" means approximately 50 to 100°C (122 to 212°F). Measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Temperature Specified Condition Cold 1,630 to 2,740 ohms Hot 2,065 to 3,225 ohms If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
- INSTALL CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR Apply a coat of engine oil to an O-ring of the crankshaft position sensor. Install the crankshaft position sensor with the bolt. Torque: 10 N*m ( 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.

- INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Partially soak the sensor in the water and warm up the water. Measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Condition Specified Condition Approx. 20°C (68°F) 2.32 to 2.59 kohms Approx. 80°C (176°F) 0.310 to 0.326 kohms If the result is not as specified, replace the sensor. NOTE: When checking the sensor in the water, keep the terminals dry. After the check, wipe the sensor dry.
- INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Install a new gasket to the engine coolant temperature sensor. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor. Torque: 20 N*m ( 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

- INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR Install the 2 knock sensors so that they are horizontal as shown in the illustration. Then install the 2 bolts. Torque: 20 N*m ( 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) HINT: It is acceptable for the knock sensor to be tilted +10° to -5°. Connect the 2 knock sensor connectors.

- REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH . Refer to «REMOVAL - Step 2»(ref-387327-S01811944422011022400000)
- REMOVE INTEGRATION RELAY Remove the No. 2 relay block cover. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and disconnect the integration relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

- INSPECT INTEGRATION RELAY NOTE: Some relays are built into the integration relay (unit: A). The integration relay cannot be disassembled. If there is a malfunction in the circuit of the integration relay, replace the integration relay. The internal circuit of the integration relay is as shown in the illustration. Inspect the integration relay using the following procedures. Measure the resistance of the C/OPN relay. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminal. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 2B-5 - 2B-8 10 kohms or higher Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminals 2B-5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2B-7. Using an voltmeter, measure the resistance between terminal. Standard voltage Tester Connection Specified Condition 2B-7 - 2B-8 10 - 14V Measure the resistance of the EFI MAIN relay. Remove the EFI fuse. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition EFI fuse terminal 2 - 2A-8 10 kohms or higher Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2A-6 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2A-7. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminal. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition EFI fuse terminal 2 - terminal 2A-8 Below 1 ohms Measure the resistance of the EFI NO. 2 relay. Remove the F/PMP fuse. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition F-PMP fuse terminal 2 - 2B-4 10 kohms or higher Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2A-8 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2B-3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition F-PMP fuse terminal 2 - 2B-4 Below 1 ohms Measure the resistance of the EFI INJ relay. Remove the INJ fuse. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition INJ fuse terminal 2 - 2A-4 10 kohms or higher Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2A-2 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2A-3. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified condition INJ fuse terminal 2 - terminal 2A-4 Below 1 ohms

- INSTALL INTEGRATION RELAY Connect the 3 connectors. Attach the integration relay to the engine room No. 2 relay block. Install the No. 2 relay block cover.

- INSPECT FUEL PUMP RELAY (Marking: F/PMP) Remove the No. 2 relay block cover. Remove the fuel pump from the engine room No. 2 junction block. Measure the fuel pump relay resistance. Standard resistance Tester Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 63 to 91 ohms 3 - 5 Below 1 ohms 3 - 5 10 kohms or higher (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2) Reinstall the fuel pump relay to the engine room No. 2 relay block. Reinstall the No. 2 junction block cover.
