Standard resistance SPECIFIED CONDITION AND TESTER CONNECTION Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition R5-18 (GND3) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms Measure the voltage of the connector. Standard voltage SPECIFIED CONDITION AND TESTER CONNECTION Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition R5-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V If the result is not as specified, repair or replace wire harness or connector. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 18. Check that the personal light comes on. OK SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE Condition Specified Condition LH side personal light ON LH side personal light comes ON LH side personal light OFF LH side personal light does not come ON RH side personal light ON RH side personal light comes ON RH side personal light OFF RH side personal light does not come ON If the result is not as specified, replace the overhead J/B assembly.

  1. INSPECT REAR ROOM LIGHT (PERSONAL LIGHT) Disconnect the R8 connector from the rear room light. Measure the resistance of the connector. Standard resistance SPECIFIED CONDITION AND TESTER CONNECTION Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition R8-3 (RGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms Measure the voltage of the connector. Standard voltage SPECIFIED CONDITION AND TESTER CONNECTION Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition R8-1 (RRMP) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V If the result is not as specified, repair or replace wire harness or connector. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 3. Check that the personal light comes on. OK SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE Condition Specified Condition LH side personal light ON LH side personal light comes ON LH side personal light OFF LH side personal light does not come ON RH side personal light ON RH side personal light comes ON RH side personal light OFF RH side personal light does not come ON If the result is not as specified, replace the rear room light assembly.

Standard resistance SPECIFIED CONDITION AND TESTER CONNECTION Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition R8-1 (RRMP) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V If the result is not as specified, repair or replace wire harness or connector. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 4. Check that the rear interior light comes on. OK: Comes on If the result is not as specified, replace the rear room light assembly. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 5. Check that the rear seat light comes on. OK: Comes on If the result is not as specified, replace the rear room light assembly.

  2. REMOVE FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Disconnect the connector. Remove the bolt. Remove the 2 bolts and front height control sensor sub-assembly.
  3. REMOVE REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUBASSEMBLY Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector. Put matchmarks on the rear height control sensor link and bracket. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and rear height control sensor sub-assembly.

Connect the connector.
