PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Operate the front passenger side temperature adjustment switch. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List. Check the value(s) by referring to the table below.   3. INSPECT NO. 1 AIR MIX CONTROL SERVO MOTOR (AIR MIX CONTROL SERVO MOTOR) Replace the No. 1 air mix control servo motor (air mix control servo motor). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398224-S22867237812011051600000) . HINT: Since the servo motor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.   4. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS Replace the air conditioning harness. Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-398224-S13686817912011051600000) . HINT: Since the air conditioning harness cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the air conditioning harness with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal. HINT: Since the servo motor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a new or a known good one and check that the condition returns to normal.   6. INSPECT ELECTRIC VEHICLE FUSE WARNING: Be sure to wear insulated gloves. Turn the power switch off. Remove the service plug grip. WARNING: Do not touch the high-voltage connectors or terminals for 10 minutes after the service plug grip is removed. NOTE: Do not start the engine with the service plug grip removed because it may cause a malfunction. Remove the inverter terminal cover. NOTE: Be sure to prevent foreign objects or water from entering the inverter with converter assembly. Check that bolts A and B are tightened securely. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Scheme 140: DESCRIPTION

The solar sensor is installed on the upper side of the instrument panel. It detects sunlight to control air conditioning AUTO mode. The output voltage from the solar sensor varies in accordance with the amount of sunlight. When the amount of sunlight increases, the output voltage increases. As the sunlight decreases, the output voltage decreases. The air conditioning amplifier assembly detects changes in the output voltage from the solar sensor.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE, GROUND) Disconnect the integration control and panel assembly connector. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F59-8 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V F59-9 (IG+) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F59-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  4. REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Replace the integration control and panel assembly with a new or a known good one. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398224-S05986382912011051600000) .
