- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
- Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure). Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-524126-S41645429092013012800000) .
- Turn the engine switch off and wait for 30 seconds.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on [A].
- Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature reaches 75°C (167°F) or higher [B]. HINT: The A/C switch and all accessory switches should be off and the shift lever should be in P or N.
- Drive the vehicle at 60 km/h (37 mph) for 5 minutes or more [C]. WARNING: When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
- Idle the engine for 30 seconds or more [D].
- Drive the vehicle at 60 km/h (37 mph) and shift the transmission to 2nd gear [E]. WARNING: When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
- Perform fuel cut operation for 5 seconds or more with the accelerator pedal fully released [F]. HINT: When "Idle Fuel Cut" in the Data List is ON, fuel cut is operating.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Monitor / Current Monitor / Exhaust Gas Recirculation/VVT / Current [G].
- Check that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation/VVT / Current monitor is Complete. HINT: If the monitor is Incomplete, perform the driving pattern again.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Monitor / Current Monitor / Exhaust Gas Recirculation/VVT / Details / EGR FLOW INSUFFICIENCY / Details.
- Check the test Details (EGR FLOW INSUFFICIENCY). HINT: Make sure that the values are between MIN and MAX.
- If the monitor is still Incomplete, perform the following procedure.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Read the pending DTCs. HINT: If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning. If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / All Readiness.
- Input the DTC: P0401.
- Check the DTC judgment result. CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
Note. This Air Injection Check only allows technicians to operate the secondary air injection system for a maximum of 5 seconds. Furthermore, the check can only be performed up to 4 times per trip. If the test is repeated, intervals of at least 30 seconds are required between checks. While secondary air injection system operation using the Techstream is prohibited, the Techstream display indicates the prohibition (WAIT or ERROR). If ERROR is displayed on the Techstream during the test, stop the engine for 10 minutes, and then try again. Performing Air Injection Check repeatedly may cause damage to the secondary air injection system. If it is necessary to repeat the check, leave an interval of several minutes between System Check operations to prevent the system from overheating. When performing the Air Injection Check operation after the battery cable has been reconnected, wait for 7 minutes with the engine switch turned on (IG) or the engine running. Turn the engine switch off when the Air Injection Check operation finishes.
- Start the engine and warm it up.
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Clear DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation). Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-524126-S41645429092013012800000) .

- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Clear DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC operation).
- Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Monitor / Current Monitor.
- Check that Catalyst Efficiency / Current is Incomplete.
- Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature is 75°C (167°F) or higher [A].
- Drive the vehicle at approximately 60 km/h (38 mph) for 10 minutes or more [B]. HINT: Drive the vehicle while keeping the engine load as constant as possible. The monitor item will change to Complete as the catalyst efficiency monitor operates [C].
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Check if any DTCs (pending DTCs) are stored. HINT: If the monitor does not change to Complete, and no pending DTCs are stored, perform the following procedure.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed between 75 and 100 km/h (47 and 63 mph) for 10 minutes or more [D]. HINT: Drive the vehicle while keeping the engine load as constant as possible. The monitor item will change to Complete as the catalyst efficiency monitor operates [E].
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Check if any DTCs (pending DTCs) are stored.
- CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0420 OR P0430) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Note. The Evaporative System Check (Automatic Mode) consists of 5 steps performed automatically by the Techstream. It takes a maximum of approximately 23 minutes. Do not perform the Evaporative System Check when the fuel tank is more than 90% full because the cut-off valve may be closed, making the fuel tank leak check unavailable. Do not run the engine during this operation. When the temperature of the fuel is 35°C (95°F) or higher, a large amount of vapor forms and any check results become inaccurate. When performing the Evaporative System Check, keep the fuel temperature below 35°C (95°F).

- Read the pending DTCs. HINT: If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning. If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.

- Input the DTC: P0724.
- Check the DTC judgment result.
