PROCEDURE
- CHECK MAYDAY ECU Press the SERVICES button and check the LEXUS Link condition with the LEXUS Link call center. OK System operates normally. NG System does not connect to LEXUS Link call center (current DTC 1-2 exists). NG --> REPLACE MAYDAY ECU TOGETHER WITH MAYDAY BATTERY AND THEN PERFORM REGISTRATION OK --> END
- RESET MAYDAY ECU Exit diagnosis mode and wait for 10 seconds. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 1 minute. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 seconds. Turn the power switch ON (IG), and then check for the current DTC and historic DTC again. Result Result Proceed to Current DTC 2-1 or 2-2 exists A Historic DTC 2-1 or 2-2 exists B B --> CLEAR HISTORIC DTC A: Go to next step

- RESET MAYDAY ECU Exit diagnosis mode and wait for 10 seconds. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 minutes. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 seconds. Turn the power switch ON (IG), and then check for the current DTC and historic DTC again. Result Result Proceed to Current DTC 2-3 or 2-4 exists A Historic DTC 2-3 or 2-4 exists B B --> CLEAR HISTORIC DTC A --> REPLACE MAYDAY ECU TOGETHER WITH MAYDAY BATTERY AND THEN PERFORM REGISTRATION
- RESET MAYDAY ECU Exit diagnosis mode and wait for 10 seconds. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 minutes. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for 10 seconds. Turn the power switch ON (IG). Keep the power switch ON (IG) for 5 minutes or more. Check for DTC again. Result Result Proceed to Current DTC 2-6 exists A Current DTC 2-6 does not exist B B --> CLEAR HISTORIC DTC A --> REPLACE MAYDAY ECU TOGETHER WITH MAYDAY BATTERY AND THEN PERFORM REGISTRATION
- CHECK TELEPHONE ANTENNA (GPS ANTENNA) OPERATION Check that there are no objects that may cause interference in the antenna in the surrounding area. Press the SERVICES button 10 minutes after turning the power switch ON (IG). Then check that the information on the vehicle location from the GPS satellite matches the information from the LEXUS Link call center. OK Telephone antenna (GPS antenna) operates normally. NG --> GO TO DTC CHART OK --> END (AFFECTED BY SURROUNDING CONDITIONS; CLEAR HISTORIC DTC)
- CHECK FOR DTC (BLINKING PATTERN) Turn the power switch from ON (IG) to OFF. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and wait for 10 seconds. Check for the DTC again and wait for 20 seconds. OK DTC 5-1 is not output. OK --> CLEAR HISTORIC DTC NG: Go to next step
- CHECK FOR DTC Check for DTC using the Techstream. HINT: The mayday ECU is connected to the BEAN. Check that there are no multiplex communication system DTCs present. RESULT Result Proceed to No DTC A Related to multiplex communication system B B --> GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A: Go to next step
- CHECK HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH When the headlight dimmer switch is set to the low beam position, check that the combination meter indicator dims. HINT: The mayday ECU uses the BEAN communication stop judgment to check for the dim signal from the cowl side junction block RH (main body ECU RH). OK Combination meter indicator dims. NG --> GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM OK --> REPLACE MAYDAY ECU TOGETHER WITH MAYDAY BATTERY AND THEN PERFORM REGISTRATION
- REPLACE MAYDAY BATTERY (BACKUP BATTERY) Replace the mayday battery. Perform registration. Refer to «REGISTRATION - Step 4»(ref-387182-S22632659552011022400000) . Check for DTC again. OK Current DTC 6-1 is not output. NG --> PERFORM REGISTRATION AGAIN OK --> CLEAR HISTORIC DTC
- CHECK VEHICLE BATTERY Check the vehicle battery. Standard voltage 11 to 14 V NG --> RECHARGE OR REPLACE VEHICLE BATTERY OK --> GO TO ECU POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (MAYDAY ECU)
