DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

WARNINGVehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
CAUTIONWhen battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR OPERATION

When the ignition SW is turned to the ACC or ON position, the outer mirrors can be operated. When the remote control mirror SW is operated, the signal is input to body ECU No. 2 and the outer mirror is adjusted to the desired position through communication control of the body ECU No. 2 and door ECU etc.

In the remote control mirror system, the position sensor detects the number of rotations of each motor (movement amount of each mirror) and inputs it to the door ECU. This makes it possible to store and recall the outer mirror position using the position memory SW. The outer mirror position is stored and recalled through communication control of the body ECU No. 2 and door ECU etc.
