REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

WARNINGVehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting any repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
CAUTIONWhen battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

Removal

  1. Remove the screw from the wireless remote control key and then push the cover upwards.
  2. Remove the module from the key frame.
  3. Remove the 2 screws to take out the lid of the module.
  4. Take out the discharged battery and put a new battery with the positive side up.

Installation

CAUTIONDo not replace the battery with wet hands. Water may cause unexpected rust.
CAUTIONDo not touch or move any components inside the transmitter, or it may interfere with proper operation.
CAUTIONBe careful not to bend the electrode of the battery insertion and that dust or oils do not adhere to the inside of the module.
CAUTIONTake care not to damage or bend the "O" ring when installing.

Note. Take care not to lose the screws and "O" ring.

Note. Make sure the positive side and negative side of the battery should be faced correctly.

  1. Install the lid with 2 screws.
  2. Install the module into the key frame and secure the cover with the screw.
  3. When pushing any switch on the wireless key, make sure the indicator light comes on.
