RELAYS

Note. Relay terminal identification number is printed on relay body.

  1. Remove high or low headlight relay. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between relay terminals No. 85 and 86. Continuity should exist. Also check continuity between relay terminals No. 30 and 87. Continuity should not exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace relay.
  2. Using jumper wire, apply battery voltage to relay terminal No. 86. Using another jumper wire, connect relay terminal No. 85 to ground. Recheck continuity between relay terminals No. 30 and 87. If continuity exists, relay is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace relay.

HEADLIGHT SWITCH

Disconnect combination switch 18-pin connector. Check for continuity between specified combination switch connector terminals. See HEADLIGHT SWITCH TEST table. (Scheme 1) If continuity is not as specified, replace headlight switch.
