XJS

1. If windows fail to operate, check fuse and all connectors and ensure that all connections are clean and tight.
2. Connect White/Blue and Brown/Blue leads at thermal circuit breaker. Switch on ignition. Operate window switch. If window operates normally, circuit breaker is faulty and should be replaced.
3. With ignition ON, battery voltage should be obtained at Brown/Blue lead terminal of left hand window switch. Operate the switch. Battery voltage should be obtained at the Red/Blue lead terminal when the switch is operated in one direction and the Green/Blue lead terminal when switch is operated in the opposite direction. If zero reading is obtained at either test point, replace the switch.
4. Repeat step 3) at right hand window switch. Right hand switch cable colors are Red/Green for one direction and Green/Red for the opposite.
5. If tests 1-4 prove satisfactory, check window lift motor for continuity. If the wiring continuity is satisfactory, remove window lift motor for bench testing.
