- ECT sensor is located on coolant pipe at rear of cylinder head, and contains a Blue/Red wire and a Blue/Yellow wire in electrical connector.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. It may be necessary to remove fuel inlet manifold for access to ECT sensor. Remove ECT sensor.
Apply thread sealant to threads of ECT sensor. Install and tighten ECT sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill cooling system.
Kickdown switch is located on accelerator pedal. Replacement information is not available.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Apply parking brake. Place gearshift lever in "N" position. Remove mode switch cover for access to mode switch located on side of transmission. see scheme 4 Remove shift lever nut and disconnect shift lever from mode switch.
- Remove bolts and heat protector from torque converter housing for access to wiring and mode switch. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect mode switch harness connector. Remove clips for mode switch wiring. Remove mode switch retaining bolts and mode switch.
- Install mode switch with retaining bolts. DO NOT tighten mode switch retaining bolts at this time. Mode switch must be adjusted. To adjust mode switch, rotate mode switch until slot in housing on mode switch aligns with selector shaft bushing. Insert a 3/32" punch into slot. (Scheme 39)
- Tighten mode switch retaining bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-434-S36893045942000030800000). Install shift lever on mode switch and tighten shift lever nut to specification. Install mode switch cover on mode switch. Install heat protector. Install and tighten bolts to specification. Install air cleaner assembly.
