Removal

Note. In the case of the vehicle equipped with immobilizer, perform "Key Teaching" procedure together (Refer to TEACHING MODE PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION (STEP BY STEP) ).

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the cover on the ECM.
  3. Disconnect the ECM connector (A) and the TCM connector (B).
  4. Remove the ECM & TCM bracket installation bolts (C) and nut (D).
  5. After removing the installation bolts (A), remove the ECM (B) from the bracket.

Installation

Note. In the case of the vehicle equipped with immobilizer, perform "Key Teaching" procedure together (Refer to TEACHING MODE PROCEDURE DESCRIPTION (STEP BY STEP) in BE group).

  1. Installation is reverse of removal. ECM installation bolt: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft) ECM bracket installation bolt/nut: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Electronic throttle body Installation bolt: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the sensing element and the honey cell.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Mass air flow sensor installation bolt: 3.9 ~ 5.9 N.m (0.4 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 ~ 4.3 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the sensing element and the honey cell.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Intake air temperature sensor installation bolt: 3.9 ~ 5.9 N.m (0.4 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 ~ 4.3 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONApply the engine coolant to the O-ring.
CAUTIONInsert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not to damage the sensor when installing.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Engine coolant temperature sensor installation: 19.6 ~ 39.2 N.m (2.0 ~ 4.0 kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 28.9 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONApply the engine oil to the O-ring.
CAUTIONInsert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not to damage when installation.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Crankshaft position sensor installation bolt: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
WARNINGDON'T remove the camshaft position sensor during engine running or right after engine stops, or a scald by the flowed out engine oil may occur.

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  2. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector (A).
  3. Remove the installation bolt (B), and then vertically remove the sensor from the cylinder head. [Bank 1/Intake] [Bank 1/Exhaust] [Bank 2/Intake] [Bank 2/Exhaust]
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONApply the engine oil to the O-ring.
CAUTIONInsert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not to damage when installation.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the sensor housing and the connector. Be careful not to damage the O-ring.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Camshaft position sensor installation bolt: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Knock sensor installation bolt: 14.7 ~ 24.5 N.m (1.5 ~ 2.5 kgf.m, 10.9 ~ 18.1 lb-ft)

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
  3. Lift the vehicle.
  4. Remove the heater protector (B) from the catalytic converter after removing the bolt (A).
  5. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (C) with the spanner after lifting the heater protector (B).

[Bank 1/Sensor 2]

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
  3. Lift the vehicle.
  4. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (A).

  2. Lift the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector (A).
  4. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (B). [Bank 2/Sensor 1] [Bank 2/Sensor 2]
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONDON'T use a cleaner, spray, or grease to sensing element and connector of the sensor because oil component in them may malfunction the sensor performance. Sensor and its wiring may be damaged in case of contacting with the exhaust system (Exhaust Manifold, Catalytic Converter, and so on).
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Heated oxygen sensor installation: 39.2 ~ 49.1 N.m (4.0 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 36.2 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONApply the engine oil to the injector O-ring.
CAUTIONInspect the injector O-ring when installing.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Delivery pipe installation bolt: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
CAUTIONInstall the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
CAUTIONBe careful of foreign material not to flow into the valve.
  1. Installation is reverse of removal. Purge control solenoid valve bracket installation bolt: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the CVVT oil control valve connector (A-Intake) and (B-Exhaust).
  3. Remove the cylinder head cover and the timing chain upper cover [Bank 1]. (Refer to " «CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY»(ref-417715) " in EM group)
  4. Remove the mounting bolt (A), and then remove the valve from the engine.

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the CVVT oil control valve connector (A-Intake) and (B-Exhaust).
  3. Remove the cylinder head cover and the timing chain upper cover [Bank 2]. (Refer to " «CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY»(ref-417715) " in EM group)
  4. Remove the mounting bolt (A), and then remove the valve from the engine.
  1. Installation is the reverse of removal. CVVT oil control valve installation bolt: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft) CAUTION: Pay attention to color of valve connector (Harness side) and the blue marking on the chain cover when installing. If an OCV is installed on opposite manifold, the engine may be damaged. Connect the CVVT oil control valve connector as below. Intake: OCV component marked blue color and the harness connector. (Gray) Exhaust: OCV component marked nothing and the harness connector. (Black) CAUTION: Install the component with the specified torques. Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.   1. Installation is reverse of removal. Fuel pump resister installation bolt: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lbf.ft)
