Parking and Back-up Sensor Control Unit Input Test/Replacement
Note. Before testing, troubleshoot the multiplex integrated control unit first, using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

- Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-333587-S27385002872009072100000) ).
- Disconnect the 16P connector (A) from the parking and back-up sensor control unit (B).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, go to step 4 .
- With the connector still disconnected, do these input tests at the following connector. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If the input test proves OK, go to step 5 . A short to ground in the wire. 3 GRY Disconnect the left front corner parking sensor 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 3 and left front corner parking sensor terminal No. 4: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire Check for continuity between terminal No. 3 and body ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the wire 4 RED Disconnect the left front corner parking sensor 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 4 and left front corner parking sensor terminal No. 2: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire Check for continuity between terminal No. 4 and body ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the wire 10 PUR Disconnect the left rear corner parking sensor 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 10 and left rear corner parking sensor terminal No. 6: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire Check for continuity between terminal No. 10 and body ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the wire 11 BLK Disconnect the left rear corner parking sensor 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 11 and left rear corner parking sensor terminal No. 4: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire Check for continuity between terminal No. Hand body ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the wire 12 ORN Disconnect the left rear corner parking sensor 6P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 12 and left rear corner parking sensor terminal No. 2: There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire Check for continuity between terminal No. 12 and body ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the wire
- Reconnect the 16P connector to the parking/back-up sensor control unit, and do these input tests. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, control unit must be faulty; replace it. - Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-333587-S27385002872009072100000) ).
- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the front parking sensor switch (B), then remove the switch from the switch panel.
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table below.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the illumination bulbs (A) or the switch.

- Remove the front inner fender (see «FRONT INNER FENDER REPLACEMENT»(ref-333594-S33096215622009072100000) ) or the rear bumper (see «REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-333589-S06968765592009072100000) ).
- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the corner parking sensor (B).
- Remove the retainer (C) and remove the sensor.
- Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the back-up sensor (B).
- Remove the retainer (C) and remove the back-up sensor.
- Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
