VTM-4 Control Unit Replacement

Note. The VTM-4 control unit must be initialized after replacement, other wise the VTM-4 system will not function.

Scheme 44: VTM-4 Control Unit Replacement
  1. Remove the left side trim panel.
  2. Remove the left side trim panel lid.
  3. Remove the three bolts (A) from the VTM-4 control unit (B).
  4. Disconnect the VTM-4 control unit connectors (C).
  5. Install the VTM-4 control unit in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see «INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-333587-S31415692192009072100000) ).
  2. Remove the harness clip (A), then remove the auxiliary under-dash relay holder (B).
  3. Remove the VTM-4 relay (C) from the auxiliary under-dash relay holder.
  4. Install the VTM-4 relay in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the cargo floor box. (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - CARGO AREA»(ref-333585-S30179242372009072100000) )
  2. Remove the rear right side trim panel, (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA»(ref-333585-S17052326012009072100000) )
  3. Remove the breather hose clips (A), then disconnect the breather hoses (B).
  4. Remove the rear differential breather box clips (C) and the rear differential breather box (D).
  5. Install the breather box and the hose in the reverse order of removal.
