  1. Remove the left side trim panel cover.
  2. Remove the left side trim panel lid.
  3. Connect the backprobe adapters (A) to the stacking patch cords (B), and connect the cords to a digital multimeter (C). Using the wire insulator as a guide for the contoured tip of the backprobe adapter, gently slide the tip into the connector from the wire side until it come in contact with the end of the terminal end of the wires.
  4. If you can not get to the wire side of the connector or the wire side is sealed (A), disconnect the connector and probe the terminals (B) from the terminal side. Do not force the probe into the connector. NOTE: Do not puncture the insulation on a wire. Punctures can cause poor or intermittent electrical connections.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle (see «LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS»(ref-333541-S31570824132009072100000) ).
  2. Remove the rear wheels.
  3. Drain the differential fluid (see «DIFFERENTIAL FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT»(ref-333569-S01826009402009072100000) ).
  4. Remove the right rear driveshaft (see «REAR DRIVESHAFT REMOVAL»(ref-333570-S11255106442009072100000) ).
  5. Make a reference mark (A) across the propeller shaft (B) and the rear differential companion flange (C). Separate the propeller shaft from the rear differential. NOTE: Suspend the propeller shaft with an appropriate size wire or nylon strap.
  6. Disconnect the right rear driveshaft inboard joint (A) from the rear differential (B) using the driveshaft remover (C). NOTE: This is a prying tool, do not strike it with a hammer. Suspend the left rear driveshaft with an appropriate size wire or nylon strap.
  7. Place a transmission jack under the rear differential (A).
  8. Disconnect the 6P connector (B) and the 2P connector (C), then remove the mounting bolts (D) and the stopper (E).
  9. Lower the rear differential a little on the transmission jack, then remove the left rear driveshaft (A) from the rear differential.
  10. Disconnect the breather tube (B) from the rear differential.
  11. Lower the rear differential on the transmission jack, then remove the set rings (C) from the rear differential.
