Active Control Engine Mount (Acm) System: NVH Honda Odyssey IV

Harsh engine vibration felt in the passenger's compartment ('07 models J35A7 engine)

  1. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  2. Check for PGM-FI system DTCs with the HDS.( see «HOW TO USE THE HDS (HONDA DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM)»(ref-372404-S41700709762010092500000) ). Are any Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Go to step 3.
  3. Select the PGM-FI in the PGM-FI system.
  4. Select the ACM in the PGM-FI system, and check for ACM system's DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Go to step 5 .
  5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  6. Open the engine hood.
  7. Select the ACM TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.
  8. Do the Fr. ACM SOL OFF with the HDS. Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Fr. ACM SOL OFF? YES - Turn the Fr. ACM SOL to ON, then go to step 11 . NO - Go to step 9 .
  9. Exit the ACM TEST, and select the Fr. ACM SOL ACTIVATION with the HDS.
  10. Check the front engine mount with your hand. Does the mount vibrate? YES - Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the front engine mount (see «ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S13021035212008081300000) ). If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck. NO - Replace the front engine mount (see «ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S13021035212008081300000) ).
  11. Do the Rr. ACM SOL OFF with the HDS. Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Rr. ACM SOL OFF? YES - The ACM system is OK at this time. Check for other engine mount and other engine problems caused vibration. NO - Go to step 12 .
  12. Exit the ACM TEST, and select the Rr. ACM SOL ACTIVATION with the HDS.
  13. Check the rear engine mount with your hand. Does the mount vibrate? YES - Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S01623988032008081300000) ). If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck. NO - Replace the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S01623988032008081300000) ).

  1. Start the engine, and let it idle 20 seconds.
  2. Check for PGM-FI system DTCs with the HDS ( see «HOW TO USE THE HDS (HONDA DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM)»(ref-372404-S41700709762010092500000) ). Are any Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting NO - Go to step 3.
  3. Select the ACM in the PGM-FI system, and check for ACM system's DTCs with the HDS. Are any Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated? YES - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting NO - Go to step 4.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  5. Open the engine hood.
  6. Select the ACM TEST in the ACM INSPECTION menu with the HDS.
  7. Do the Fr. ACM SOL OFF with the HDS. Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Fr. ACM SOL OFF? YES - Turn the Fr. ACM SOL to ON, then go to step 10. NO - Go to step 8.
  8. Exit the ACM TEST, and select the Fr. ACM SOL.V ACTIVATION in the ACM INSPECTION menu with the HDS.
  9. Check the front engine mount with your hand. Does the mount vibrate? YES - Check the mount for damage (see «ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S13021035212008081300000) ). If needed, replace the front engine mount. If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck. NO - Replace the front engine mount (see «ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S13021035212008081300000) ).
  10. Do the Rr. ACM SOL OFF with the HDS. Does the engine vibration change when you turn the Rr. ACM SOL OFF? YES - The ACM system is OK at this time. Check the other engine mounts and any other engine problems that can cause vibration . NO - Go to step 11.
  11. Exit the ACM TEST, and select the Rr. ACM SOL.V ACTIVATION in the ACM INSPECTION menu with the HDS.
  12. Check the rear engine mount with your hand. Does the mount vibrate? YES - Check the mount for damage. If needed, replace the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S01623988032008081300000) ). If the mount is OK, go to step 1 and recheck. NO - Replace the rear engine mount (see «REAR ENGINE MOUNT REPLACEMENT»(ref-294701-S01623988032008081300000) ) .

Scheme 674: '07 model J35A7 engine
  1. Remove the lower glove box (see «LOWER GLOVE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-294712-S04683620992008081300000) ), and the right kick panel (see step 2 on «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(ref-294711-S28919579412008081300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the engine mount control unit, 20P connector (A).
  3. Remove the engine mount control unit (B).
  4. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the lower glove box (see «LOWER GLOVE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-294712-S04683620992008081300000) ), and the right kick panel (see step 2 on «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(ref-294711-S28919579412008081300000) ).
  2. Disconnect the engine mount control unit 16P connector (A).
  3. Remove the engine mount control unit (B).
  4. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
