Security Indicator Does Not Work Properly

Note. The system will not operate without the 5-digit security (anti-theft) code. Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the anti-theft code.

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait for 3 minutes.
  2. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Does the security indicator (LED) on (blink)? YES -Go to next step. NO - With navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S11397871042010042600000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S11397871042010042600000) ). If the system is still present, replace the audio-navigation switch panel (see «AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S30313919132010042600000) ). Without navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio unit (see «WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM»(ref-360124-S26142092282010042600000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit (see «WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM»(ref-360124-S26142092282010042600000) ). If the symptom is still present, replace the audio switch panel (see «AUDIO SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S09070334112010042600000) ).
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  4. Enter the 5-digit security (anti-theft) code. Is the security indicator (LED) off? YES -The audio unit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the audio unit and the audio-navigation switch panel or the audio switch panel. NO - With navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio-navigation switch panel (see «AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S30313919132010042600000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio-navigation switch panel (see «AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S30313919132010042600000) ). If the system is still present, replace the audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S11397871042010042600000) ). Without navigation system: Substitute a known-good audio switch panel (see «AUDIO-NAVIGATION SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S30313919132010042600000) ), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio switch panel (see «AUDIO SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-360124-S09070334112010042600000) ). If the system is still present, replace the audio unit (see «WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM»(ref-360124-S26142092282010042600000) ).
