Error Codes

The audio system can display a few error codes when some problems are detected with the audio disc player, the audio disc, the USB audio, the anti-theft code, or the XM radio. This is not a complete list of audio error codes. Refer to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING , or go to any official Honda service website for more service information.

CD Error Codes

HEAT ERRORDisc player is hot. This can happen if the vehicle is parked out in the hot sun all day.Park the vehicle in a cooler place for a while and try the disc player again. If the error code is still present, try another disc. If the error code is still present, replace the audio unit; with navigation (see WITH NAVIGATION SYSTEM ), without navigation (see WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM ).
UNSUPPORTEDTrack/File format not supported.Current track is skipped. The next supported track of file plays automatically. Verify that CD, CD-R, or CD-RW file names end in CD-DA or WAV. Verify that CD, CD-R, or CD-RW with compressed music formats end in MP3 or WMA. Other file formats like iTunes or Ogg are not recognized. WMA files may have (DRM) copy protection and cannot be read.
MECH ERRORCD label jammed in the mechanism. CD eject mechanism or motor is inoperative. CD spindle motor won't spin up the CD.Press the EJECT button and hold it for 5 seconds. If the CD does not eject, try again. If the CD still won't eject, replace the unit.

XM Error Codes

LOADINGXM radio is acquiring audio or program information.Wait until the radio receives the information.
OFF AIRXM channel not in service.Try another XM channel.
NO SIGNALLoss of signal.Both terrestrial and satellite antennas have lost signal. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
UPDATINGXM radio is receiving information update from the network.This message disappears once the update finishes.
CHECK ANTENNAXM antenna error.Repair an open or a short in the satellite antenna. Substitute a known-good AM/FM/XM antenna (see AM/FM/XM ANTENNA REPLACEMENT ), and recheck. If the error is gone, replace the original XM antenna. If the error is still present, replace the antenna lead.
ANTENNA ERROR
NO INFONo signal from XM.Check a known-good vehicle with XM radio. If the known-good vehicle has the same symptoms, contact XM Radio at 800-852-9696.

Audio Unit Error Codes

CODE ERROR 1Anti-theft code mismatch (1st try).Enter the correct anti-theft code.
CODE ERROR EAnti-theft code mismatch (10th try).Remove the No. A15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box, then reinsert it. You will have 10 more tries to enter the correct anti-theft code.

UNPLAYABLE FILEThe audio unit cannot read the file(s).Check the files in the USB device. There is a possibility that the files have been damaged or are not supported.

USB LOADData is being loaded from the USB device.Check the files in the USB device. There is a possibility that the files have been damaged, or are not supported.
USB NO SONGThere are no files or files that are not supported on the USB device.Check the files in the USB device. There is a possibility that the files have been damaged, or are not supported.
USB NO DATAUSB device is not connected.If the code appears when the USB devices is connected, go to USB DEVICE DOES NOT FUNCTION .
