JACKING & HOISTING
Note. For all wheel alignment adjustments and information on Passport, refer to Isuzu Rodeo in WHEEL ALIGNMENT - SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in ISUZU.
Note. Prior to performing wheel alignment, perform preliminary visual and mechanical inspection of wheels, tires and suspension components. See PRE-ALIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS in WHEEL ALIGNMENT THEORY & OPERATION article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
FLOOR JACK
- Set parking brake. Block wheels that are not going to be lifted. When lifting rear of vehicle, place transmission in Reverse (M/T) or Park (A/T). (Scheme 5)
- Place floor jack lift platform under lift bracket to raise vehicle. (Scheme 6)- (Scheme 11). On Insight, left and right lift brackets are located under vehicle at center line. On other models, front lift bracket is located under vehicle, on cross/center beam. Rear lift bracket is located under center of vehicle, left of muffler. On all models, place safety stands onto reinforced support points of side body panels (between front and rear wheels).

HOIST
| WARNING | When removing heavy rear components such as suspension, fuel tank, spare tire or tailgate, vehicle center of gravity may change and cause vehicle to tip forward. |
- On all models except Accord, when removing heavy rear components such as suspension, fuel tank, spare tire or tailgate, place additional weight into trunk of vehicle before hoisting. Placing front wheel/tire assembly into cargo area can assist with weight distribution. On Accord, when removing heavy rear components such as suspension, fuel tank or spare tire, place tall safety stands under front of vehicle after hoisting.
- On all models, place lift blocks onto reinforced support points of side body panels (between front and rear wheels). (Scheme 5) These are same points as used with manufacturer-supplied jack. Lift hoist a few inches and rock vehicle to ensure vehicle is firmly supported. Completely lift vehicle and check for proper vehicle support.
EMERGENCY JACKING
Place manufacturer-supplied jack onto reinforced support points of side body panels (between front and rear wheels). (Scheme 5)
S2000 (Front & Rear)
Compare camber settings with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS. If camber is incorrect, hold adjusting bolt on front lower arm and loosen self locking nut. Turn adjusting bolt until camber is correct. Check for bent or damaged suspension components. Replace faulty components. Recheck camber. (Scheme 12)or (Scheme 13). After adjusting, tighten self locking nut while holding adjusting bolt. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.

Accord
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove lock nut on end of radius (strut) rod. (Scheme 14) Remove radius rod bolts and radius rod from lower control arm.
- Adjust caster angle by increasing or decreasing adjusting shims. A 0.13" (3.2 mm) thick shim changes caster angle by.58 degree (35 minutes). Caster angle can be adjusted a maximum of 1.17 degree (one degree, 10 minutes). Install NEW lock nut. Tighten radius rod bolts and lock nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S26913094562003030400000). Recheck caster adjustment as necessary.

Civic, CR-V, Insight & Odyssey
Compare caster settings with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS . If caster is incorrect, check for bent or damaged front suspension components. Replace faulty components. Recheck caster.
S2000
If caster needs adjustment, raise and support front of vehicle. Hold flange bolt on rear of lower arm and loosen self locking nut. Turn adjusting cam collar until caster is correct. (Scheme 15) After adjusting, tighten self locking nut while holding flange bolt. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.

Front (Except CR-V & Insight)
- Check toe with wheels pointed straight ahead. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S00543030332003030400000) . If no adjustment is required, remove alignment equipment. If adjustment is required, go to next step.
- Loosen tie-rod lock nuts, and turn both tie rods in the same direction until the front wheels are pointing straight ahead. Turn both tie rods equally until the toe reading on turning radius gauge is correct. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S00543030332003030400000) . After adjusting, tighten the tie-rod lock nuts. Reposition the tie rod boot if it is twisted or displaced. Recheck toe-in.
Front (CR-V)
- Secure steering wheel in straight ahead position. Measure front wheel toe-in. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S00543030332003030400000) . If adjustment is needed, loosen tie rod lock nuts. Turn both tie rods equally in opposite direction until front wheels are in straight ahead position and toe-in reading is correct. Tighten tie rod lock nuts. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S26913094562003030400000) . Reposition tie rod boots if twisted.
Rear (Accord, Civic, CR-V, Odyssey & S2000)
Note. On S2000, adjust rear toe by moving upper and lower control arms same amount in opposite directions. Example: upper control arm is moved out, move lower control arm in.
- Check caster and camber. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S00543030332003030400000). Adjust if necessary. Secure steering wheel in straight ahead position. Ensure parking brake is released. Hold adjusting bolt on rear lower control arm and loosen lock nut. Adjust rear toe-in by turning adjusting eccentric bolt until toe-in is correct. Install NEW lock nut, and tighten it while holding adjusting bolt. (Scheme 16)- (Scheme 20). See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S26913094562003030400000). Recheck toe-in.

Insight (Front & Rear)
- Secure steering wheel in straight ahead position. Check rear wheel toe-in. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S00543030332003030400000). If rear toe-in is not within specification, check for bent or damaged suspension components. Replace faulty components. Recheck rear toe-in.
- Measure front toe-in. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-152906-S00543030332003030400000). If adjustment is needed, loosen inner tie rod lock nut, then loosen outer tie rod lock nut while holding tie rod end. (Scheme 21)
- Loosen the inner lock nut while holding the tie-rod arm, and loosen the outer lock nut while holding the tie-rod end. Turn the adjusting bolt until the toe is correct. After adjusting, tighten the lock nuts while holding the tie-rod arm or tie-rod end. Make sure the arrow on the tie-rod arm and the aligning mark on the tie-rod end are in line, viewing from the wheelhouse side along the axial direction of the tie-rod, on both right and left side of the vehicle making sure the toe setting does not change.
