DOOR GLASS

Note. On all models, make adjustments with vehicle on flat level surface. Check weather stripping for damage or deterioration. Remove door panel and plastic cover. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

Civic (Sedan)

  1. Raise glass fully. Loosen glass mounting bolts (front) or roller guide bolts and regulator mounting bolts. Push glass rearward (front door) or forward (rear door). (Scheme 4) Tighten glass mounting or roller guide bolts and regulator mounting bolts.
  2. Loosen front channel mounting bolt (front door) or rear channel mounting bolt (rear door). Lower glass. Push front or rear channel against glass, then tighten mounting bolts. Repeat as necessary. Check for leaks using low pressure water.

CR-V & Civic (Coupe & Hatchback)

Raise glass as far as possible and hold against glass run channel. Loosen roller guide bolts. Adjust glass parallel with glass run channel. (Scheme 5) Tighten roller guide bolts. Loosen channel bolt(s). Lower glass. Push channel against glass, then tighten channel bolt(s). Ensure glass moves smoothly. Raise glass fully. Check for leaks using low pressure water.

Driver's Window Motor

Connect test leads of analog ohmmeter to motor connector terminals No. 3 and 4. Using jumper wires, connect terminals No. 1 and 2 to battery voltage and ground. see scheme 3 If ohmmeter needle does not move back and forth while motor is operating, replace motor.

SWITCH INPUT TESTS

Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door panel. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Unplug connectors from master switch. Using a DVOM, perform appropriate switch input tests. (Scheme 6)- (Scheme 8). If all input test results are okay, inspect connector and terminals for damage and proper fit. If connector is okay and power windows still malfunction, replace master switch.

Master Switch

Remove power window master switch. See MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of switch terminals with switch in indicated positions. If continuity is not as specified, replace switch. (Scheme 6)- (Scheme 8). See appropriate POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH TEST table.
