Generators & Regulators: Adjustments Honda Accord VI

Adjustment

1. Loosen the mounting bolt "B" and locknut "C". (Scheme 1)
2. Turn the adjusting bolt "D" to obtain the proper belt tension, and retighten the locknut and mounting bolt.
3. Recheck the belt tension.
4. If you installed a new belt, run the engine for 5 minutes. Readjust the belt to the used belt specification.
5. Check the power steering pump belt adjustment. See appropriate POWER RACK AND PINION article in STEERING.

Scheme 1

Adjustment (2.3L)

1. Loosen the mounting bolt "B" and locknut "C". (Scheme 2)
2. Turn the adjusting bolt "D" to obtain the proper belt tension, and retighten the locknut and mounting bolt.
3. Recheck the belt tension.
4. If you installed a new belt, run the engine for 5 minutes. Readjust the belt to the used belt specification.
5. Check the power steering pump belt adjustment. See appropriate POWER RACK AND PINION article in STEERING.

Scheme 2

Adjustment (3.0L)

Vehicle is equipped with auto-tensioner, no adjustment is necessary.
