VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
Note. Although valve clearance adjustment is not usually required (engine uses hydraulic valve lifters), perform the following procedure after servicing valve train. Tighten all rocker arm bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m).
Rotate crankshaft until timing marks are aligned and cylinder No. 1 is at TDC of compression stroke (firing position). Tighten exhaust valve rocker arm bolts at cylinders No. 1, 2, 7, and 8. Tighten intake valve rocker arm bolts at cylinders No. 1, 3, 4, and 5. Rotate crankshaft 360 degrees. Tighten exhaust valve rocker arm bolts at cylinders No. 3, 4, 5, and 6. Tighten intake valve rocker arm bolts at cylinders No. 2, 6, 7, and 8.
