REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
- Set air flow control to VENT position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Apply parking brake. Move shift lever all the way down (A/T). Tilt steering column to full down position. Pull gently rearward on instrument cluster bezel to release retaining clips. Remove instrument cluster bezel.
- Remove end panels from instrument panel. Firmly pull right side air outlets to left side to release. Remove right side air outlets. Remove assist handle by depressing release tabs accessed through air outlet duct holes. Remove door sill plate by pulling straight up. Remove kick panels. Pull windshield garnish molding straight out to release retainers. Remove windshield garnish molding.
- Remove bolts retaining upper instrument panel trim pad. Disconnect electrical connector to ambient light sensor on under side of pad. Remove upper instrument panel trim pad. Unsnap 2 lock arms to release Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). Disconnect electrical connector and remove RCDLR. To install, reverse removal procedure.
