DTC P0336 - CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE GMC Envoy I

Circuit Description

Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor sends reference signal to VCM to indicate position of crankshaft and engine speed (RPM). VCM uses this information to determine ignition coil, fuel injector and ignition timing.

Conditions for setting DTC

  1. Engine cranking and VCM receives 4 or more camshaft signals without receiving CKP signal.
  2. CKP signal is missing for at least .5 second.
