CHECKING FLUID LEVEL

Note. Transmission/transaxle must be at normal operating temperature (180-200°F) when checking fluid level. One pint of fluid will raise level from ADD 1 PT. or .5L to FULL mark on dipstick with transmission/transaxle at normal temperature. DO NOT overfill.

Transaxles and transmissions use Dexron-VI ATF. For additional fluid information, see TSB 04-07-30-037D; RELEASE OF DEXRON-VI AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) . All transfer cases EXCEPT Tracker, NV136, NV236 and NV246 use Dexron-III ATF. Tracker transfer case uses GL-4 75W-90 lubricant. Transfer case models NV136, NV236 and NV246 use Auto-Trac® II Fluid (GM P/N 12378508).
