REAR QUARTER WINDOW

Remove rear quarter trim. Loosen 4 rear quarter window latch retaining screws. Loosen 2 rear quarter window hinge nuts. Adjust the rear quarter window glass into proper position. While holding window, have an assistant tighten the 2 rear quarter window hinge nuts to 89-124 INCH lbs. (10-14 N.m). Tighten the 4 rear quarter window latch retaining screws to 89-124 INCH lbs. (10-14 N.m). Install rear quarter trim. Open and close window to verify proper operation.

Mechanical

  1. Window alignment.
  2. Window mounting (regulator and bracket).
  3. Window frame interference.

Electrical

  1. Blown fuse(s): No. 34 (30-amp) and No. 29 (15-amp) in fuse junction panel located below driver's side of instrument panel. Fuse "J" (60-amp) in power distribution box located on left hand side of engine compartment.
  2. Damaged wiring harness.
  3. Loose or corroded connections.
  4. Damaged switches.

MASTER SWITCH

Remove power window master switch (leave harness connected). Using a test light, backprobe appropriate wire terminal while actuating power window switch in specified positions. See MASTER SWITCH TESTING table. If test light does not illuminate at appropriate switch positions, replace power window master switch.

PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE

  1. Verify customer's complaint by operating power windows. Check window alignment and window mounting. Check for window frame interference or damaged switches. Check for blown fuse(s), loose or corroded connectors, or damaged wiring harness. Repair or replace components as necessary.
  2. If all components are okay, connect NGS tester to DLC located below instrument panel. Using NGS tester, perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If NGS tester displays CKT70=00000000F or ALL MODULES NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED, see MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article to continue diagnosis. If NGS tester displays NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for GEM, go to «TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH GEM»(ref-29374-S33189586252001010800000) under SYSTEM TESTING.
  3. If NGS tester displays SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record continuous DTCs. Erase continuous DTCs and perform self-test diagnostics for GEM using NGS tester. Perform appropriate DTC test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See «DIAGNOSTIC TESTING»(ref-29374-S13703814952001010800000) . If DTC test is not listed, see GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE (GEM) DTC DEFINITIONS table to continue diagnosis. If no DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test under «SYSTEM TESTING»(ref-29374-S39349765562001010800000) .

GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE (GEM) DTC DEFINITIONS

Check Down Input

Ensure ignition is off. Turn ignition off. Disconnect GEM 22-pin connector C234 (located behind instrument panel, on left side of steering column). Using a voltmeter, check for voltage between ground and GEM connector C234 terminal No. 12 (Yellow wire) while pressing driver door master window switch left front window to DOWN position. (Схема №2) If battery voltage is present, clear GEM DTCs and repeat GEM self-test. If DTC B1404 is retrieved, replace GEM and retest system operation. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Yellow wire and retest system operation.
