Rear View Mirrors: Removal & Installation Ford Thunderbird XI

Installation

1. Press firmly in the center of the exterior rear view mirror glass until it snaps onto the exterior rear view mirror motor.

1. Remove the exterior rear view mirror motor. For additional information, refer to «EXTERIOR MIRROR MOTOR»(ref-204625-S18129514382005111300000) .
2. Remove the exterior mirror. For additional information, refer to «EXTERIOR MIRROR»(ref-204625-S01250068672005111300000) .
3. Remove the screws and the exterior rear view mirror bracket.
4. Release the cover retaining tabs and remove the exterior rear view mirror cover.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the instrument panel insulator. Disconnect the lamp electrical connector from the instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover. Remove the pin-type retainers. Release the instrument panel steering column cover. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Position the outer instrument panel finish panel aside.
4. Disconnect the exterior mirror control switch electrical connector.
5. Depress the locking tabs and remove the exterior mirror control switch.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
