Removal and Installation
| WARNING | Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. |
| CAUTION | Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with water. |

- Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES»(ref-204581) .
- Disconnect the electrical connector by lifting up on the release tab.
- Disconnect the brake lines from the HCU.
- Remove the HCU. Remove the bolts. Remove the HCU.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. For additional information, refer to «BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-204551) .

- Upload the module configuration to the diagnostic tool. For additional information, refer to «MODULE CONFIGURATION»(ref-204595) .
- Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES»(ref-204581) .
- Disconnect the ABS module electrical connector.
- Disconnect the anti-lock brake pump motor electrical connector.
- Position the underhood auxiliary junction box (AJB) aside. Release the underhood AJB clips. Position the underhood AJB aside.
- Remove the ABS module. Remove the bolts. Remove the control module.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
